Pioneer Investments, filiale de gestion d’UniCredit qui pourrait être fusionnée avec Santander Asset Management, serait valorisée entre 2,7 milliards d’euros et 3 milliards d’euros, soit 10-11 % de l’Ebitda de la structure, selon Funds People Italia, dans un article sur les chiffres de l’opération. La fusion des activités de gestion d’actifs des groupes italien et espagnol donnerait naissance à un colosse de 350 milliards d’euros d’encours sous gestion, qui figurerait parmi les 15 premiers en Europe et les 25-30 principaux au monde, selon Federico Ghizzoni, l’administrateur délégué d’UniCredit. Ce dernier ajoute que la nouvelle entité bénéficiera d’un réseau de distribution de 20.000 agences en Europe et en Amérique du Sud. Il exclut des supressions de postes suite à la fusion.
Fidelity Worldwide Investments vient de lancer un fonds actions émergentes concentré qui sera géré par Alex Duffy, qui gère un fonds Amérique latine, est en mesure de révéler Citywire Global. Le fonds Fidelity Funds – Emerging Market Focus a été lancé le 29 septembre. Il sera géré selon une approche bottom-up et privilégiera les entreprises qui manifestent leur volonté ou leur capacité à partager leurs rendements avec les actionnaires minoritaires.
La société Hotchkis & Wiley, basée à Los Angeles, a lancé un fonds «value» grandes capitalisations à destination des investisseurs européens, rapporte Citywire. Le Alma Hotchkis & Wiley US Large Cap Value Equity Fund sera logé dans la Sicav luxembourgeoise Alma Capital Investment Funds. La stratégie, qui existe déjà aux Etats-Unis, est gérée par Patrick Meegan, Scott McBride, Judd Peters et George Davis.
Le Forum pour l’investissement responsable allemand FNG a choisi Novethic pour mettre au point un label ISR (investissement socialement responsable) pour les fonds commercialisés en Allemagne. Ce partenariat devrait voir le jour en 2015.FNG est une association qui réunit plus de 160 membres institutionnels. Basée à Berlin, elle existe depuis 2001.

While Google is reported to have commissioned a vast study nearly two years ago to help it make its entry into the market (see Newsmanagers of 29 September 2014), the Chinese firm Alibaba has already shown its strength with inflows of CNY574bn (about EUR75bn) to the money market fund Yu’e Bao. The Chinese e-commerce giant is now planning to sell the fund in Hong Kong. “Alibaba, which has posted money market inflows of about EUR80bn, represents a threat,” Charlotte Dennery, chief operating officer and a member of the executive board at BNP Paribas Investment partners, admitted at a round table held as part of the 5th AGEFI AMtech Day. “This is a disruption to the industry that makes us think.” The challenge is all the more crucial as asset management firms are only at the beginning of their digital projects.

Shareholders in EIM Will receive 14 million new shares in Gottex. The shares have been listed on the stock exchange since 30 September. Gottex and EIM Group announced their merger in mid-December 2013. The financial markets surveillance authority (Finma) granted its approval in July. Assets under management by the new group total about USD8.5bn.
Wealth manager Gottex announced on September 30 the formal completion of the merger with EIM and the listing of 14,000,000 shares on SIX Swiss Stock Exchange on September 30, according to a media release. Gottx and EIM Group announced their merger in mid December 2013. The Swiss regulator gave its green light at the end of July.

The announcement, dated 29 September, comes from the Italian regulator Consob. On 26 September, BlackRock reduced its stake in the Italian banking group from 5.246% to 4.999%.

The US asset management firm will merge its 13 ETFs domiciled in France onto a single centralised platform in Ireland. With the move, issues and settlement will be performed through a international central securities depository (ICSD) with Euroclear. “The anticipated advantages of the structure include a reduction in costs and operational risks, an improvement in liquidity, a reduction in the spreads between buy and sell prices, and the creation of a simpler and more precise process for all parties,” the asset management firm says in a statement explaining its decision. Meanwhile, SSgA has decided to reduce its management fees for 15 of its main equity and bond ETFs. The reduction in management fees will result in an average cut of 20% for the vechicles concerned. The largest reduction is for the SPDR S&P 500, which is reduced from 15 to 9 basis points from 1 October, The SPDR Barclays Euro Aggregate Bond Ucits ETF and SPDR Barclays Aggregate Bond Ucits ETF are reduced from 20 to 17 basis points. Lastly, the SPDR MSCI Emerging Markets Ucits ETF is reduced from 65 to 42 basis points from 1 October.

The product, managed by James Tomlins, “allows retail investors to protect the value of their bond investments against interest rate rises,” the British asset management firm says. The fund is largely invested in global variable rate high yield bond markets, and pays a variable income which is revised every three months,” M&G explains in a press statement. “For the first time, retail investors in the United Kingdom and continental Europe will have access to the variable rate high yield bond markets via an investment fund,” Tomlins comments. “This fund offers not only bond investors concerned about the risk of an interest rate rise a means to protect their investment, but it also allows them to participate in increasing returns,” the manager adds. Le programme d'émission de dette française à moyen et long terme, net de rachats, atteindra 188 milliards d’euros en 2015, a annoncé mercredi l’Agence France Trésor (AFT) dans la foulée de la présentation du projet de loi de finances 2015. Le montant que la France ira emprunter sur les marchés l’an prochain est donc en nette hausse par rapport aux 173 milliards d’euros émis en 2014. Le programme de financement aurait même été supérieur à 188 milliards si le budget 2015 ne prévoyait une hausse des recettes de privatisation affectées au remboursement de la dette: celles-ci doivent se monter à 4 milliards d’euros l’an prochain, contre 1,5 milliard cette année. Le stock de bons du Trésor, lui, devrait rester stable.

Après avoir indiqué hier que le déficit budgétaire de l’Etat devrait atteindre 75,7 milliards d’euros en 2015, après 87 milliards cette année, le journal précise dans son édition de mercredi que le gouvernement prévoit pour l’an prochain une baisse de 0,4 point du taux de dépenses publiques, à 56,1% de PIB, et une réduction de 0,1 point des prélèvements obligatoires.
Le gendarme boursier américain (SEC) a autorisé depuis vendredi dernier la banque américaine à reprendre la commercialisation de fonds d’arbitrage ou de fonds de private equity auprès de particuliers fortunés, rapporte le quotidien new-yorkais. Cette autorisation fait suite au paiement à l’amiable par Citigroup de 285 millions de dollars (226 millions d’euros) en août dernier concernant des opérations de titrisation de dette réalisées entre 2006 et 2007. Grâce à son statut d’«émetteur établi bien connu» (well-known issuer), Citigroup peut en outre émettre rapidement des actions ou des obligations sans revue préalable de la SEC.
Craignant une hausse trop forte du coût de l’énergie solaire, le gouvernement nippon pourrait modifier en janvier prochain les conditions relatives au prix d’achat de cette source d’énergie en repoussant la fixation de ce prix au début de la période de production et non plus à partir de l’approbation du projet, rapporte le journal.
