Selon une étude commandée par la Fédération des promoteurs immobiliers (FPI) au cabinet d’avocats Fidal, la fiscalité des logements neufs est nettement plus élevée en France que dans les autres principaux pays européens, rapporte le quotidien en précisant que les coûts de construction des logements se sont envolés en moyenne de 50% en 10 ans. Pour un logement neuf vendu 200.000 euros toutes taxes comprises, la fiscalité représente ainsi 27% du prix payé par un particulier, soit 12,5% de plus que dans les autres pays européens, cet écart atteignant 17% par rapport à l’Allemagne. S’y ajoute une taxe foncière également la plus élevée de la région.
Les députés français ont donné hier leur aval au versement en 2015 de 21,042 milliards d’euros au budget de l’Union européenne, soit 8,1% des recettes fiscales de la France. Ce prélèvement est en hausse de 4% par rapport à la loi de finances initiale pour 2014. Le budget de l’Union pour 2015, toujours en cours de négociation, s'élève à 145 milliards d’euros en crédits d’engagement et à 140 milliards d’euros en crédits de paiement.
La Banque centrale européenne (BCE) a commencé hier à mettre en œuvre son troisième programme de rachat d’obligations sécurisées (covered bonds) en rachetant des titres français et espagnols, rapporte Bloomberg de deux sources proches du dossier. Les contreparties en France sont la Société Générale et BNP Paribas, précisent ces sources. La BCE veut gonfler son bilan d’environ 1.000 milliards d’euros afin de juguler les menaces déflationnistes dans la région.
Constatant que la société de gestion Market Bridge Capital ne disposait pas des moyens financiers et humains suffisant pour déployer un dispositif de contrôle interne et de conformité efficace, la commission des sanctions de l’AMF a annoncé hier avoir condamné la société à une amende de 250.000 euros, sa dirigeante Maya Dray écopant d’une amende de 50.000 euros.

L’Allemagne et la France sont sur la voie d’un accord pour stimuler les investissements au niveau européen, ont annoncé lundi les ministres des Finances des deux pays. Un document commun sera présenté d’ici décembre, a déclaré le ministre allemand des Finances, Wolfgang Schaüble, lors d’une conférence de presse à Berlin avec Michel Sapin, le ministre français de l’Economie, Emmanuel Macron et son homologue allemand Sigmar Gabriel. Un conseil franco-allemand est prévu le 1er décembre prochain.«Nous allons travailler d’arrache-pied à la préparation des rencontres qui auront lieu au cours des semaines et des mois qui viennent», a précisé Wolfgang Schaüble.

He will be based in Frankfurt, and will report to Lars Albert, head of distribution for Germany and Austria. The Value Partners China A-Share Select Fund has received permission from the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) of Hong Kong and was officially launched on the market on 16 October. The new product is an A-Share equity fund managed actively on the basis of strong convictions, with a mandate to invest in businesses of all sizes and business sectors, listed on the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock markets. Its objective is to earn long-term capital growth from securities denominated in renminbi as part of the RQFII programme. Value Partners received an initial RQFII quota for RMB800m in October 2013, which will be applied to the new fund. In April 2014, the asset management firm won RMB500m in additional quotas. “RQFII products, including ETFs, are under development, and will be launched in the near future,” Value Partners says in a statement. As of 30 September 2014, assets under management in A-shares totalled USD800m.

This increase is the result both of the good performance of the financial markets and to subscriptions, the US group says. Long-term net inflows totalled USD13bn in third quarter, while short-term subscriptions represented USD19bn. Long-term funds invested largely in liability-driven investment (LDI) strategies, BNY Mellon states. As of the end of September, assets under custody or administration totalled USD28.300trn, up 3% year on year. For third quarter, BNY Mellon has posted net profits of USD1.07bn, compared with USD962m in third quarter 2013.

The wealth management unit has posted growth of 25.1% to its pre-tax profits, to a total of USD836m as of the end of September 2014, compared with USD668m as of the end of September 2013. In the same period, its earninngs have risen 8.7%, to USD3.785bn, compared with USD3.481bn as of the end of September 2013. However, its investment management unit has seen a decline of 37.3% in its pre-tax profits, to a total of USD188m as of the end of September 2014, compared with USD300m at the end of September 2013. Earnings were penalised by weak profits related to its investments, and also fell heavily, to USD655m as of the end of September 2014, compared with USD828m as of the end of September 2013. Despite that, driven by net inflows of USD7.6bn in the past quarter, activities have seen their assets under management and/or supervision rise to USD398bn, from USD360bn one year previously. In third quarter 2014, the Morgan Stanley group posted an increase of 87% in its profits, to USD1.65bn, compard with USD880m one year previously.

This growth was largely driven by returns on portfolios totalling EUR3.42bn. Since the beginning of the year, net inflows total only EUR850m. However, the sector remains highly concentrated. As of the end of September, the top 10 players had a total of EUR44.5bn in assets, equivalent to 72.78% of the total market. BBVA remains the top player in the market, with EUR11.29bn in assets under management, and a market share of 18.47%. It is followed by CaixaBank (EUR9.59bn in assets), Santander (EUR8.28bn), Bankia (EUR4.48bn), and Allianz (EUR3.67bn). Since the beginning of the year, the top inflows have gone to CaixaBank, with EUR717.5m. This puts the banking group ahead of Renta 4 (EUR150.9m) and BBVA (EUR104.3m), Meanwhile, Caser has posted the heaviest net outflows, with -EUR144.2m. It is followed by Santander (-EUR119.1m), and Catalunya Banc (-EUR68.4m).
The South African Old Mutual group on 17 October announced that its British retail asset management affiliate Old Mutual Wealth has reached an agreement to acquire Quilter Cheviot, the second-largest British independent wealth management firm, for a total of over GBP585m. The operation, which is pending the approval of regulatory authorities, may be completed in first quarter 2015. “This acquisition will bring us strong capacity for discretionary asset management, which will accelerate the strategy of Old Mutual Wealth to build a vertically integrated wealth management activity, with GBP92bn in assets under management,” Old Mutual says in a statement.Through the operation, the group claims that it expects to earn a total return on equity (RoE) of 12% to 15%, and to generate annual synergies of GBP15m until 2017. The operation will allow Old Mutual Wealth to significantly extend its client base and to boost its assets. As of the end of September 2014, Quilter Chetiot had 38,000 clients, with GBP16.2bn in assets under management. “Quilter Cheviot has filled a signicant gap in its activities, which will now allow us to better serve our affluent and high net worth clients,” says Paul Feeney, CEO of Old Mutual Wealth, in a statement.As part of the operation, Martin Baines, currently CEO of Quilter Cheviot, will join the executive board at Old Mutual Wealth, and will report to Paul Feeney.

Le groupe TCW a annoncé le recrutement de William Lloyd et de Joseph Quinn qui vont rejoindre l'équipe chargée de la gestion alternative, en qualité de managing director responsable du marketing des produits alternatifs pour le premier et senior vice president of alternatives marketing pour le second. Tous deux seront installés dans les bureaux de TCW à New York et auront pour mission de développer la distribution des produits alternatifs de la société auprès des investisseurs. William Lloyd, qui a plus de 25 ans d’expérience, travaillait précédemment chez VecolicyShares, où il a contribué à développer la société spécialisée dans les ETF. De son côté, Joseph Quinn travaillait auparavant chez Marinus Capital Advisors en qualité de responsable du marketing, après avoir passé 17 ans chez Bridgewater Associates où il distribuait les stratégies Pure Alpha et All-Weather auprès des investisseurs institutionnels.
Le gestionnaire d’actifs DNCA Finance susciterait l’intérêt de plusieurs prétendants dont Natixis SA et Affiliated Managers Group, rapporte Bloomberg qui cite des sources proches du dossier. Les actionnaires de DNCA Finance, à savoir TA Associates et le groupe Banca Leonardo ont mandaté Credit Suisse afin de mener à bien la cession de la société de gestion française, ont indiqué ces mêmes sources anonymes qui évoque une opération qui pourrait monter à 1 milliard d’euros.DNCA affiche environ 15 milliards d’euros d’actifs sous gestion et compte une vingtaine de gérants de fonds.
Axa Real Estate, la filiale dédiée à l’immobilier d’Axa Investment Managers, a nommé Guillaume Spinner au poste de directeur financier, rapporte Immoweek. Il sera rattaché à Arnaud Prudhomme, global CFO et COO d’Axa Real Estate. L’intéressé travaille chez Axa Real Estate depuis plus de 10 ans, exerçant diverses fonctions au sein du «fund management». Guillaume Spinner a débuté sa carrière chez Archon Group en France puis en Allemagne.
