Harcourt, la boutique de gestion alternative de Vontobel Asset Management, a annoncé le lancement du fonds Harcourt Alternative Leaders. Il s’agit d’un fonds de fonds alternatif au format Sicav-SIF qui est une réplique d’une stratégie de managed account proposée depuis 2000. Le nouveau fonds sera géré par Ilario Scasascia et accessible uniquement aux investisseurs institutionnels.

A l’occasion de la publication de ses résultats annuels préliminaires portant sur l’exercice fiscal clos au 30 septembre 2015, le gestionnaire d’actifs britannique Impax Asset Management a fait état d’une croissance de 2% de ses actifs sous gestion en l’espace d’un an. De fait, ses encours s’établissent à 2,82 milliards de livres au 30 septembre 2015 contre 2,75 milliards de livres au 30 septembre 2014. Au cours de cette période, la société de gestion a enregistré une collecte nette de 77 millions de livres. A l’inverse, elle a subi un effet marché et performance négatif à hauteur de 9 millions de livres.A l’occasion de cette communication, le groupe britannique a annoncé que sa filiale Impax Asset Management (AIFM) Limited a conclu un accord avec BNP Paribas Investments Partners (BNPP IP) en vertu duquel BNPP IP «agira en qualité d’agent de placement exclusif pour le troisième fonds de private equity dédiée aux infrastructures d’Impax».
La Bourse de Londres, le London Stock Exchange Group, a annoncé, jeudi 8 octobre, la signature d’un accord portant sur la cession de son activité de gestion d’actifs Frank Russell Company (Russell Investments) à la société américaine de capital-investissement TA Associates pour un montant de 1,15 milliard de dollars (752 millions de livres) en numéraire. Concrètement, Reverence Capital Partners s’est associé avec TA Associates dans le cadre de cette opération et réalisera un « investissement minoritaire significatif » dans Russell Investments, selon un communiqué de presse. Russell Investments gère 266 milliards de dollars d’actifs au 30 juin 2015. A l’issue du premier semestre 2015, la société de gestion américaine a réalisé un chiffre d’affaires de 757 millions de dollars, un bénéfice opérationnel de 89 millions de dollars et un bénéfice avant impôt de 43 millions de dollars, a précisé le London Stock Exchange.A l’issue de l’opération, Len Brennan, « president » et directeur général de Russell Investments, continuera de diriger la société de gestion et demeurera membre du conseil d’administration de Russell Investments. En revanche, il quittera le comité exécutif du groupe London Stock Exchange.

Bill Gross has filed lawsuits against his former employer Pimco, and its parent company Allianz SE” with “hundreds of millions of dollars” at play, following his eviction in 2014, according to the news agency Bloomberg.The former chief investment officer at Pimco claims that he was pushed out the door by the directors of the asset management firm, who wanted to claim a larger percentage of the bonuses. Gross was supposed to receive a bonus of USD250m, but in light of his depaerture before the end of the third quarter of 2014, he ultimately only received a part of that amount.Gross hopes to reclaim no less than USD200m in damages and interest, which may then be given to charities, including the Pimco foundation.

Clapham will be based in Hong Kong, and will report to Terence Lam, head of sales and marketing for Asia, and Pierre Bonneville, head of sovereign and supranational entities. In his new role, Clapham will aim to strengthen and develop coverage of sovereign fund and central bank clients throughout the Asian region. Before joining Axa IM, Clapham had been director of institutional sales at Macquarie Securities Group. He has over 15 years of experience in the institutional investment sector in Asia, as he previously served as head of transition management and global portfolio trading at Deutsche Bank in Hong Kong. He was also an investment consultant at Mercer and Towers Perrin in Sydney, London and Singapore.

After opening offices in Milan and Frankfurt, the asset magement firm, which soon will have been led for 18 months by Dominique Carrel-Billiard, will open an office in Geneva in January 2016. “It would be logical to open an office in Zurich next,” the CEO of La Financière said on 8 October at a conference for the international press. La Financière is also present in Benelux, but serves it from Paris and Spain through a TPM.“We need to build our strength. In an environment in which the trend is toward concentration, with rising costs and falling margins, we need to increase our market share,” Carrel-Billard stated, adding that he would like to develop international activities, to move toward a greater balance of France and international.Currently, the French market represents over 78% of assets, which total EUR8.02bn, compared with EUR7.76bn as of the end of 2014, off a peak of about EUR8.3bn in June 2015. In the first eight months of the year, net inflows totalled EUR131bn. In the month under review, funds reserved for institutional investors attracted EUR6.2bn, while open-ended funds attracted EUR3.9bn. Mandates in August posted net subscriptions of EUR0.6bn. Within open-ended funds, money market funds received a net EUR0.9bn, followed by bonds funds, equity funds and diversified funds, which attracted EUR0.8bn each. As of the end of August, the German fund industry had a total of EUR2.554trn in assets under management, of which EUR1.310trn were in institutional funds.
La plupart des gérants actions zone Euro ISR étaient absents de Volkswagen ou sous-pondérés sur le titre en raison principalement d’une note faible sur le pilier «gouvernance» et de diverses controverses tant sur l’environnement que la gouvernance, indique Cedrus Asset Management dans une note consacrée au scandale Volkswagen, qui a éclaté le 18 septembre et à ses conséquences sur les portefeuilles. Cedrus précise que 25% des fonds ISR actions zone euro détenues en portefeuille étaient au titre Volkswagen. «Au 18 septembre 2015, l’exposition de notre gestion actions zone euro au titr"e Volkswagen était de 0,28% contre 0,75% pour l’indice Eurostoxx. A plus grande échelle, l’encours actuel des fonds actions zone euro est d’environ 100 milliards d’euros. Sur la base de ces hypothèses, la sélection ISR a pu faire économiser environ 225 millions d’euros», estime Cedrus. D’autre part, 70% des fonds crédit ISR détenus en portefeuille par Cedrus étaient exposés à Volkswagen. «Au 18 septembre, notre fonds Credot était exposé aux obligations Volkswagen à hauteur de 0,64% contre 1,69% pour l’indice Barclays Euro Corporate Bond. A plus grande échelle, l’encours actuel des fonds obligataires de la zone euro est d’environ 400 milliards d’euros. Encore une fois, sur ces bases, l’ISR a permis d'éviter une diminution des actifs sous gestion de l’ordre de 420 millions d’euros», estime Cedrus. The London Stock Exchange Group on Thursday, 8 October announced that it has signed an agreement to sell its asset management business, Frank Russell Company (Russell Investments), to the US private equity firm TA Associates, for a total of USD1.15bn (GBP752m) in cash. Reverence Capital Partners has teamed up with TA Associates for the operation, and will make a “significant minority investment” in Russell Investments, according to a press statement.Russell Investments has USD266bn in assets under management as of 30 June 2015. For first half 2015, the US asset management firm has posted earnings of USD757m, operating profits of USD89m, and pre-tax profits of USD43m, the London Stock Exchange states.After the operation, Lee Brennan, chairman and CEO of Russell Investments, will continue to head the asset management firm, and will remain a member of the board of directors at Russell Investments. Les créanciers internationaux de la Grèce s’opposent à un plan proposé par Athènes visant à contourner la privatisation de l’opérateur de réseau électrique ADMIE, opération qui est l’une des conditions imposées au pays en échange de son troisième plan d’aide, rapporte ce matin le journal hellène Kathimerini. Selon ce plan, la Grèce doit lancer ce mois-ci la cession de sa part de 66% dans ADMIE ou trouver un autre moyen de libéraliser le marché de l’électricité du pays. Le gouvernement d’Alexis Tsipras veut démanteler ADMIE, en laissant dans les mains du public les infrastructures de transmission d’électricité et en vendant le reste à des investisseurs privés.
Selon les données corrigées des variations saisonnières publiées hier par l’Office fédéral de la statistique, les exportations ont diminué de 5,2% sur un mois en août, à 97,7 milliards d’euros, soit la plus forte baisse par son montant depuis janvier 2009. Les importations ont pour leur part reculé de 3,1% à 78,2 milliards, leur recul le plus prononcé depuis novembre 2012. L’excédent commercial s’est réduit à 19,6 milliards, après 22,4 milliards en juillet. Les économistes soulignent que l’activité au mois d’août a pâti d’un effet défavorable lié au calendrier des vacances cette année en Allemagne.
La commission des finances de l’Assemblée nationale a adopté dans la nuit de mercredi à jeudi trois amendements au projet de loi de finances pour 2016, relatifs à la taxe sur les transactions financières (TTF). Rédigés dans les mêmes termes, ils ont pour objet d’élargir le champ de la TTF en y intégrant les transactions intraday, qui sont dénouées au cours d’une seule et même journée. L’objectif est de limiter ces transactions qui accentuent la volatilité du marché et de dégager des recettes fiscales supplémentaires qui serviront notamment à lutter contre le changement climatique.
Le rendement des obligations d’Etat allemandes à 10 ans devrait plonger à 0,2% seulement fin 2016, contre une prévision précédente de 0,95%, a indiqué hier HSBC. La banque britannique a également ramené à 1,5% sa prévision de rendement sur les Treasuries américains à 10 ans. «Nos opinions à la baisse sur les rendements s’inscrivent dans un contexte international, qui voit la BCE rester en mode accommodant bien au-delà de l’horizon de fin 2016», écrit Steven Major, patron mondial de la stratégie taux de la banque britannique.
