F&C Investments a annoncé l’expansion de sa gamme actions européennes avec le lancement du fonds F&C European Small Cap ex UK, rapporte Investment Europe. Le fonds est une version OEIC onshore hors Royaume-Uni de la Sicav F&C European Small Cap. Sam Cosh gérera le fonds qui sera investi dans les 25 % d’entreprises les plus petites en termes de capitalisation. Le fonds sera investi dans 40-60 valeurs.

European institutional investors will be targeting alternative investments over the next two years, with infrastructure assets generating the greatest interest, according to the latest issue of The Cerulli Edge-Global Edition.Of the 56 European institutions surveyed by Cerulli Associates, in partnership with Institutional Investor, 53% plan to increase their exposure to infrastructure over the next 12 to 24 months."Real estate, hedge funds, and private equity can also expect near-term inflows, with net 36%, 21%, and 13% respectively of investors due to boost allocations,» said Barbara Wall, Europe research director at Cerulli. Over the next three to five years, the picture looks rosier for infrastructure and private equity, with anticipated increases from 55% and 15% of investors, respectively. CSOP Asset Management Limited, an offshore Chinese asset manager with the largest Renminbi Qualified Foreign Institutional Investor quota, announced that its CSOP FTSE China A50 ETF will begin trading on the NYSE Arca under the ticker «AFTY». The fund tracks the performance of the FTSE China A50 (CNHUSD) Net Total Return Index which provides exposure to 50 largest A-Share companies on the Shanghai and Shenzhen Exchanges. The fund is the first ETF listed independently in the United States by a Chinese asset management company. The fund has debuted with more than USD237 million in assets and 13.96 million shares as the largest initial capital investment among all US listed equity ETFs since 2007. For their part, open-ended funds (retail funds) earned net inflows of EUR8.9bn, their best monthly performance since January 2007, BVI notes. Lastly, assets managed outside investment funds posted net inflows of EUR2bn. Among open-ended funds, diversified funds were favoured by investors, with net inflows of EUR4.9bn in January. At the same time, equity funds finished the month of January with net inflows of EUR2.4bn, while bond funds attracted a net EUR1.3bn. As a result, its assets under management reached an all-time peak of EUR28.1bn as of the end of December 2014, compared with EUR25.2bn, an increase of 11.5%. This growth was driven by net inflows of EUR2bn last year. In detail, the asset management firm posted net outflows of EUR1bn from money markets, largely offset by EUR3bn in net subscriptions to mid- and long-term asset classes. As a part of this, CPR AM posted EUR1.7bn in net inflows to equities, EUR900m in net inflows to fixed income, and lastly, a net EUR400m to diversified products. Although more than 50% in annual net inflows came from its historically large clients, institutionals and businesses, CPR AM has accelerated its growth serving the private banking and distribution segments, which represened 38% of net inflows in 2014. Norway’s Government Pension Fund Global returned 7.6 percent, or 544 billion kroner, in 2014, according to a statement.Equity investments returned 7.9 percent, fixed-income investments 6.9 percent, and real estate investments 10.4 percent.The relative return was weaker than in 2013 (15.9%). The overall return on the fund’s equity and fixed-income investments was 0.8 percentage point lower than the return on the benchmark indices. This can be explained mainly by a higher weight of European stocks and the shorter duration of the fund’s fixed-income investments compared with the benchmark.The fund had a market value of 6,431 billion kroner at 31 December 2014, of which 61.3 percent was invested in equities, 36.5 percent in fixed income and 2.2 percent in real estate. “Never before have we made as many property investments as we did last year, and we will continue to step up these investments in the coming years,” says Yngve Slyngstad, CEO of Norges Bank Investment Management. “We’re delighted to have in place a separate leader group for real estate to drive our planned expansion in this area.”

Data showing the US unemployment rate in February dropped to a more six year low of 5.5% has forced investors to revisit the question of when US interest rates will start to climb. Outflows for US bond funds during the week ending March 11 suggest a growing number of those investors expect a rate hike by the third quarter, according to EPFR Global. Having taken in USD48 billion during fourth quarter of 2014, US equity funds have seen over USD33 billion redeemed year to date because of the stronger dollar.Flows into Europe equity funds exceeded USD5 billion for the fourth time in the past seven weeks as the European Central Bank’s quantitative easing program kicked off.Overall, EPFR bond funds absorbed a net USD2.7 billion during the seven days ending March 11 and money market funds nearly USD20 billion while equity funds collectively posted modest outflows of USD695 million.
