Threadneedle Investments a annoncé, ce 16 juin, la nomination de quatre analystes dédiés aux actions nord-américaines. Il s’agit de Benedikt Blomberg, Nicolas Janvier et Amit Kumar, tous trois étant nommés analystes seniors sous la direction de Diane Sobin, responsable des actions américaines. La filiale immobilière du groupe SEB a récemment liquidé son fonds immobilier Target Return Fund (WKN: 980231), rapporte Das investment. SEB Investment va vendre l’ensemble du portefeuille d’ici au 31 mai 2017.En 2012, SEB avait déjà liquidé le fonds SEB Immoinvest (WKN : 980230).
Axa IM a annoncé, dans un communiqué, avoir obtenu d’une part l’accord de la la Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) pour un élargissement de sa gamme de produits en Asie et d’autre part, l’aval de la Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) pour une distribution à Hong Kong et Singapour. Vanguard étoffe son offre en Asie. Le gestionnaire d’actifs vient de lancer trois nouveaux ETFs cotés à la Bourse de Hong Kong, offrant une exposition aux actions des marchés développés en Europe et au Japon ainsi qu’à certaines valeurs à haut rendement à travers l’Asie-Pacifique, rapporte Asia Asset Management.Ces trois nouveaux produits ont débuté leur cotation le vendredi 13 juin. Dans le détail, le Vanguard FTSE Developed Europe Index ETF fournira aux investisseurs une exposition aux actions des marchés développés européens tandis que le Vanguard FTSE Japan Index ETF est le premier ETF physique, pondéré par la capitalisation boursière, à Hong Kong à proposer une exposition aux valeurs japonaises. Le troisième produit, baptisé Vanguard FTSE Asia ex Japan High Dividend Yield Index ETF, est le premier ETF physique, pondéré par la capitalisation boursière, à couvrir les valeurs à haut rendement de la région.
Selon Finews, le gestionnaire américain T. Rowe Price compte renforcer ses équipes en Suisse. Le premier recrutement est sur le point d’être finalisé. Il s’agit d’un poste au sein de l’équipe commerciale spécialisé «wholesale». Le prochain recrutement pour renforcer cette équipe est en cours mais n’interviendra que lorsque la première personne sera bien intégrée à l’équipe. La société 1875 Finance à Genève a obtenu l’agrément Finma pour l’ensemble de ses métiers, soit la gestion privée, le multi family office, la gestion institutionnelle et la gestion de placements collectifs étrangers, rapporte L’Agefi suisse. Imposé par la révision de la Loi sur les placements collectifs de capitaux (LPCC), cet agrément permet de gérer des fonds étrangers.
Les actifs sous gestion des PPI ou premium pension institutions, présents depuis la mi-2011 sur le marché de la retraite complémentaire aux Pays-Bas et qui proposent des programmes de retraite à contributions définies, s'élèvent à quelque 512 millions d’euros, selon des statistiques communiquées par la Banque centrale des Pays-Bas (DNB).Les fonds de pension néerlandais gèrent quelque 4,8 milliards d’euros et les assureurs vie 9,1 milliards d’euros, selon des statistiques à fin 2012. Les actifs des PPI sont investis à hauteur de 41,3% dans l’obligataire, à 39,7% dans les actions et à 4,9% dans l’immobilier.

This is the highest level recoded since February this year. Emerging market funds attracted USD2.3bn in the week under review, while US equity funds posted inflows of USD5.1bn. Of this total of USD11.4bn, USD9.1bn were invested in ETFs.

A similar strategy is expected to be offered to British investors soon, and French investors may receive an offering in first quarter 2015. A pan-European fund is also planned, which will take the form of a CIF domiciled in Luxembourg. These strategies may raise total assets of up to EUR1.5bn to EUR2bn, Pictet estimates.

Threadneedle Investments, who manages US$17bn AUM in US equities, announces four appointments to its US Equities team. Benedikt Blomberg, Nicolas Janvier and Amit Kumar join Threadneedle as analysts, reporting to Head of US Equities Diane Sobin. The three newcomers are senior research analysts, each with more than 10 years of experience in asset management. They join Stéphane Jeannin and Brad Colton as analysts on the team. «With the addition of the new analysts, the US Equities team now has full coverage across all sectors», said Threadneedle in a statement. The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) on 16 June announced that it has fined Merrill Lynch USD8m for overbilling charities and retirement plans thousands of dollars when selling them mutual funds. FINRA has also ordered Merrill Lynch to pay USD2.4m to reimburse clients who lost money as a result, in addition to the USD64.8m which the bank has already paid to indemnify clients affected by the practice. Nearly 41,000 retirement plans for small business and about 6,800 charities were victims of the overbilling, FINRA says in its statement.

The first recruitment is about to be finalized; it is for a position on the wholesale specialist sales team. Shih has been working for UBS since 1987. Lo, who has also directed the Hong Kong office of UBS, announced his retirement in April this year.

The ETF allows investors to gain exposure in both rising and falling markets to the EuroMTS Lowest Rated Investment Grade Government Capped 1-3 index. The index, reviewed on a monthly basis, is composed of s3curities issued by governments in euro zone member states which meet certain criteria, including at least two ratings below AAA (from the ratings agencies S&P, Moody’s or Fitch), and a total maturity of 1 to 3 years. The total expense ratio for the ETF is 0.14%. The new asset allocation tool comes as an addition to the bond product range at Amundi ETF, which offers investors a choice to invest in bonds issued by euro zone governments according to various ratings criteria (the best and the worst rated in the investment grade universe) and maturity criteria (total maturities or 1 to 3 years).

These investors now represent half of engagements, a statement says. Evidence capital is serving as a placement agent for non-French investors. Weinberg Real Estate Partners #2 made its first investment in April last year, in Campus Aviso, a 20,000 square metre property including three distinct office buildings, located at 49/51 quai de Dion Bouton in Puteaux (92). The acquisition will be carried out through the purchase of shares in the PCI which owns the properties. WREP#1, the first real estate fund raised in 2008, invested in offices, commercial and health properties, selecting properties which have good real estate fundamentals and valuation opportunities. WREP#2 will pursue the same strategy.

Credit Suisse International was fined GBP2.398bn (about EUR3bn), whie Yorkshire Building Society will pay GBP1.429bn (about EUR179bn). The financial product in question (Cliquet), designed by Credit Suisse, guaranteed a minimum return on investment, but offered potential for increased returns in the event of good performance of the London stock market index, the FTSE 100. Although the probability of achieving only a minimal return on investment was 40% to 50%, the odds of a maximal return on investment were near zero. Despite that, Credit Suisse and Yorkshire Building Society, whose market share in the sales of the product accounted for nearly 75%, made it one of their frontline products for sales, the FCA says. The product was sold to savings investors with limited investment knowledge. About 83,777 people invested slightly over GBP797m (nearly EUR1bn).

Pension funds in the Netherlands have Bout EUR4.8bn in assets under management, and life insurers have EUR9.1bn, according to statistics from the end of 2012. PPI assets are 41.3% invested in bonds, 39.7% in equities, and 4.9% in real estate.

L’indice Zew allemand de confiance des investisseurs a reculé mardi pour le sixième mois consécutif, contre toute attente. L’indice a glissé de 33,1 points en mai à 29,8 en juin, alors que le consensus des économistes attendait une hausse à 35. L’enquête a été réalisée du 2 au 16 juin, période pendant laquelle la BCE a annoncé le 5 juin des mesures supplémentaires d’assouplissement monétaire.
La croissance de l’activité manufacturière s’est encore accélérée au mois de juin dans l’Etat de New York, les nouvelles commandes ayant augmenté à leur rythme le plus soutenu en près de quatre ans, selon la Réserve fédérale de New York. Son indice «Empire State» des conditions générales d’activité est ressorti à 19,28 en juin, son plus haut niveau depuis juin 2010, contre 19,01 en mai.
Le Fonds monétaire international a revu en baisse hier sa prévision de croissance de l'économie américaine pour 2014 en prévoyant une croissance du PIB de 2% en 2014, contre 2,8% anticipés en avril, en raison de la contraction du premier trimestre. L’institution maintient sa prévision de croissance de 3% en 2015. Le Fonds a par ailleurs estimé que les Etats-Unis ne devraient pas être en situation de plein emploi avant la fin 2017.
