The fund, the Zurich Dynamic Lifestyle Portfolio, includes three underlying funds: Mixed Investments and DC Pre-Retirement, managed by Schroders, and the Zurich Deposit & Treasury fund, managed by Threadneedle. The new fund is designed to automatically attenuate the impact of market volatility. It also includes an automatic mechanism to reduce sensitivity to risk, which kicks in five years before the horizon date for retirement.

According to Crane Data, “prime” funds represent about 54% of total assets of USD2.6trn in US money market funds.

The Richland Asian Absolute Return fund, launched in 2006 by Eve Lo, formerly of Credit Suisse, has since its inception earned only positive returns. According to sources familiar with the matter, cited by Reuters, the fund is expected to close. Finews has not been able to confirm these reports, nor obtain details as to the reasons for the closure.

The product, specialised in senior loans, is actively managed, so as to generate attractive risk-adjusted returns in absolute terms over the long term.First Trust states that the fund offers protection against rises in interest rates due to the fact that most of the senior loans in which the portfolio is invested are floating rates. The ETF also provides a way to diversify investments, due to the low historical correlation between senior loans and other asset classes.The fund charges fees of 0.85%.

The move was announced on Thursday by the founder of SAC, Steve Cohen, in a letter to investors obtained by the British newspaper.

Les rendements français, autrichien et belge à 10 ans ont touché de nouveaux plus bas record à 1,65%, 1,436% et 1,905% respectivement. Le spread entre le rendement de l’emprunt italien et allemand à 10 ans est tombé à 251 points de base, au plus bas depuis juillet 2011. Le rendement de l’emprunt espagnol à 10 ans se retrouve à moins de 4%, du jamais vu depuis octobre 2010, tandis que l'équivalent portugais s’inscrit à 5,62%, au plus bas depuis octobre 2010.
L’Agence France Trésor a annoncé vendredi l’adjudication, le lundi 6 mai, d’un montant global compris entre 7,0 et 8,2 milliards d’euros de bons du Trésor (BTF). Cette opération portera sur des montants compris entre 3,6 et 4 milliards d’euros de bons à 12 semaines qui arriveront à échéance le 01/08/13, entre 1,8 milliard et 2,2 milliards d’euros de bons à 25 semaines à échéance du 31/10/13, et entre 1,6 milliard et 2,0 milliards d’euros de bons à 51 semaines à échéance du 30/04/14.
La Commission européenne s’est déclarée vendredi prête à donner deux ans à la France, jusqu’en 2015, pour ramener le déficit de ses finances publiques sous 3% du PIB pour tenir compte d’une situation économique qui reste dégradée dans l’Union européenne. Le commissaire aux Affaires économiques et monétaires, Olli Rehn, a évoqué un tel report lors de la présentation de nouvelles prévisions de croissance 2013 et 2014 revues en baisse pour tous les pays membres de l’UE. «Considérant la situation économique, il peut être raisonnable d'étendre la date limite de deux ans et de corriger le déficit excessif au plus tard d’ici 2015 en France», a-t-il dit lors d’une conférence de presse. La Commission prévoit désormais une baisse de 0,1% du PIB de la France en 2013 et une croissance de 1,1% en 2014. A politique inchangée, le déficit public de la France devrait s'établir à 3,9% du PIB fin 2013 et à 4,2% l’an prochain. Pour la zone euro, l’exécutif communautaire prévoit une contraction de 0,4% du PIB cette année et une croissance de 1,2% l’an prochain. Pour l’ensemble de l’Union européenne, la contraction devrait être limitée à 0,1% cette année et la reprise atteindrait 1,4% l’an prochain. La Commission a revu à la baisse ses prévisions pour la plupart des grands pays de la zone euro, y compris l’Allemagne, dont la croissance devrait être limitée à 0,4% cette année, contre 0,5% prévu en janvier, et à 1,8% l’an prochain, contre 2%.
