La loi Macron permet désormais aux fonds commun de placement d'entreprise (FCPE) d'investir davantage dans l'immobilier via des OPCI, jusqu'à 30% contre 10% maximum auparavant. Par ailleurs, les OPCI peuvent plus facilement se porter acquéreurs de résidences services pour seniors ou pour étudiants.
UniCredit envisagerait de supprimer plus de 10.000 postes, rapporte jeudi Bloomberg, dans le cadre d’une révision du plan stratégique annoncé en mars 2014. Le patron de la banque italienne, Federico Ghizzoni, a déjà indiqué qu’il étudiait des mesures permettant au groupe de faire face à la faiblesse persistante des taux d’intérêt. Selon Bloomberg, ces 10.000 suppressions de postes en incluraient 2.700 déjà prévues d’ici à 2018 dans le cadre du plan annoncé l’an dernier. Les nouvelles réductions d’effectif toucheraient en priorité l’Italie, l’Allemagne et l’Autriche, avec des fermetures d’agences à la clé.
La Banque centrale européenne (BCE) a annoncé jeudi qu’elle maintenait le plafond mensuel de ses rachats d’actifs à 60 milliards d’euros mais elle a relevé de 25% à 33% la part maximale d’une émission obligataire susceptible d'être acquise dans le cadre de ce programme dit d’assouplissement quantitatif (QE).
La croissance du secteur des services aux Etats-Unis est restée soutenue en août même si elle a légèrement décéléré par rapport au pic atteint le mois précédent, montre jeudi l’enquête mensuelle de l’Institute of Supply Management (ISM). Son indice des services a reculé à 59,0 après 60,3 en juillet, son plus haut niveau depuis août 2005. Celui des nouveaux contrats est revenu à 63,4 après 63,8 et celui de l’emploi à 56,0 après 59,6.
La collecte brute des sociétés civiles de placement immobilier (SCPI) s’est élevée à 2,1 milliards d’euros au premier semestre et la collecte nette à 1,86 milliard, ce qui représente pour cette dernière une hausse de 46,5% sur un an, selon les chiffres de l’Aspim, l’association professionnelle du secteur. La capitalisation des SCPI tangente les 35 milliards d’euros à fin juin. Les OPCI grand public ont drainé, eux, 1,25 milliard en net, portant leur encours à 3,28 milliards à fin juin.
AXA Investment Managers has appointed Laurent Clavel as a senior international economist within its Research and Investment Strategy (R&IS) team led by Eric Chaney. Laurent joins AXA IM from the French National Statistical Institute (INSEE) where he was Head of the Forecasting Unit and responsible for INSEE’s Quarterly Economic Outlook. He brings to AXA IM a strong knowledge of international economics which is vital for analysing global financial markets. Based in Paris, Laurent will participate in all of the analysis and research work conducted by the R&IS team, and will focus specifically on international (trade and financial) flows, cross border investments, and exchange rates. Laurent Clavel, 33, started his career in 2005 at INSEE where he was responsible for following the French economy and then moved onto global forecasting. In 2008, he joined the Finance Ministry, where he was responsible for estimating the impact of different scenarios and measures ahead of the 2010 French pension reform. Then in 2010, he became Deputy Chief of the Regional Economic Service in Stockholm and Financial Counsellor for the Nordic countries at the French Embassy in Sweden. Laurent Clavel became Head of the Forecasting Unit at INSEE in 2013.
Lazard Frères Gestion has announced the arrival of Olivier Métayer, who comes as an addition to the fund distribution team for the Swiss market, and Stéphanie Fournel, as head of relationships with international consultants. She will respond to calls for tenders, particularly in Belgium, Spain, Italy, Luxembourg and Switzerland.Métayer began his career in 2000 at the Banque du Louvre / HSBC Private Bank in Paris as an analyst of emerging markets and Japan. He then served in a similar role in Geneva at Unigestion and at Union Bancaire Privée (2006-2009). Before joining Lazard Frères Gestion, he co-founded Anchor International Investments, an investment fund distributon company aimed at qualified investors in Switzerland (2009-2015).Since 2010, Fournel had since 2010 been an equity Product Specialist at Allianz Global Investors. She joined that firm in 2004 as part of the diversified management team, first as a management assistant, and then as institutional portfolio manager.

He will report to Eric Franc, and has over 20 years of experience in the asset management, private managemnet and life insurance sectors, primarily in the areas of marketing and distribution. Until February this year, Paretti had been responsible for devising and implementing digital and multi-access strategy for savings activities at Axa France, a statement says.
Aberdeen Asset Management has completed the acquisition of Flag Capital Management, a diversified private markets manager with offices in Stamford, Boston and Hong Kong.The acquisition is part of Aberdeen’s strategy to grow its alternatives business via multi-manager hedge funds, property and private market allocations, direct infrastructure investments and pan-alternative capabilities. In addition to the acquisition of Flag, Aberdeen announced on August 4, 2015 that it had entered into an agreement to acquire Arden Asset Management, a specialist hedge fund manager and adviser with offices in New York and London. Following the completion of the Arden transaction, Aberdeen’s alternatives division, under global head of alternatives Andrew McCaffery, will have USD30 billion of assets under management.

As a part of this move, GIC will invest INR19.9bn, or about USD300m. The two real estate projects will be developed by DLF Home Developers.

Before joining AMP Capital, Barbera had worked as a portfolio manager at Kalis Capital.

Dhillon will report to Simon Pilcher, CEO responsible for fixed income, and will oversee distribution for all asset classes. Dhillon joins from Impax Asset Management, where he had been managing director responsible for the development of the activity. He had previously worked at Fidelity International and Scottish Widows Investment Partnership.
The International Organisation of Securities Commmissions (IOSCO) on 2 September published its “Peer Review of Regulation of Money Market Funds,” which reviews the implementation of regulations concerning money market funds in 31 jurisdictions.IOSCO has focused on eight areas for its reforms: defining the money market funds and vehicles which present similar characteristics and investment objectives, the perimeter of the categories of eligible assets and associated risks, valuation methods, management of liquidity, risks and problems which may affect the stability of money market funds which offer constant net asset value (NAV), use of ratings, information, and practices of the fund for pension transactions.Only the United States has put measures in place in all of these areas. China and the member states of the European Union have not yet completed their frameworks on all these points. IOSCO emphasizes that nearly 90% of assets under management in money market funds are located in the United States, France, Luxembourg, Ireland, and China.

Armin Bischofberger, Philippe Wechsler and Sébastien Zöller will help to develop alternative strategies for bonds, including long/short strategies. Bischofberger had previously worked at UBS as head of bond trading. Wechsler had been deputy head of the trading desk for lending in Swiss francs, and senior credit trader at the Cantonal Bank of Zurich (ZKB). Zöller, who also joins from ZKB, had been head of the desk and senior derivatives trader. All three will be based in Zurich, and will report to Michael Schmid, head of fixed income for Switzerland.

Lee will be based in Singapore and will report to Nobuhiro Sano, head of wealth management for Asia ex Japan. Lee joins from Island Asset Management, an asset management boutique which invests in small caps, where he had been chief executive officer. He began his career as a currency trader at Chemical Bank, before joining Bank of America, where he had been responsible for currencies for Asia.
Le fonds souverain australien Future Fund a dégagé un rendement de 15,4% durant l’année au 30 juin, selon un communiqué publié le 2 septembre. Au 30 juin 2015, les actifs sous gestion du fonds souverain s’inscrivaient à 117,2 milliards de dollars. Durant l’année écoulée, la part du cash dans le portefeuille est passée de 11,2% à 19,5%. La poche dédiée aux actions des marchés développés est tombée à 17,6% contre 23,1% précédemment, celle dédiée aux marchés émergents s’inscrivant à 9,4% contre 9,7%. Le private equity monte à 10,8% contre 8,3% et l’immobilier à 6% contre 5,4%.
Les groupes espagnols Bankinter et Mapfre ont annoncé avoir conclu un accord avec Barclays portant sur l’acquisition des activités d’assurance vie et de retraite de la banque britannique au Portugal pour un montant de 75 millions d’euros. L’opération a été conclue par Bankinter Seguros de Vida, une filiale commune de Mapfre et Bankinter. A fin 2014, Barclays Vida y Pensiones totalisaient 150 millions d’euros de primes et a réalisé un bénéfice net de 12 millions d’euros au Portugal. La société détient par ailleurs plus d’un milliard d’euros d’actifs sous gestion. En parallèle, Barclays a également annoncé la cession de ses activités de banque « retail », de gestion de fortune et de gestion d’actifs et une partie de ses activités de « Corporate Banking » au Portugal à Bankinter.
Le fonds Total Return de Pimco, le fonds phare de la société de gestion américaine, a vu ses actifs sous gestion chuter sous le seuil des 100 milliards de dollars pour la première fois depuis janvier 2007, rapporte Bloomberg. Au cours du mois d’août, les investisseurs ont retiré 1,8 milliard de dollars du Pimco Total Return, après 2,5 milliards de dollars de retraits en juillet, 3 milliards de dollars de sorties en juin et 2,7 milliards de dollars de retraits en mai, indique l’agence de presse. Ainsi, après 28 mois consécutif de décollecte nette, les encours du Total Return atteignent 98,5 milliards de dollars à fin août 2015, loin du pic de 293 milliards de dollars d’avril 2013.
Stuart Bohart, le président du pôle hedge funds de Fortress Investment Group, a quitté la société où il a passé cinq ans, rapporte le Wall Street Journal. Son départ fait suite à une période difficile pour l’activité macro trading de Fortress. Les hedge funds « liquides » de la société, gérés par Michael Novogratz, ont affiché des performances décevantes et accusé des rachats. Stuart Bohart était arrivé chez Fortress en 2010 après avoir été co-responsable du pôle gestion d’actifs de Morgan Stanley. Il a confirmé son départ et a ajouté qu’il allait prendre plusieurs mois de congé avant de revenir dans le secteur de la gestion d’actifs l’année prochaine.
Standard Life Investments a annoncé avoir conclu une opération d’achat d’un montant de 47 millions d’euros pour l’aménagement de nouveaux bureaux en région parisienne. En pratique, la société PRD, promoteur, se chargera de l’aménagement qui concernera 11 200 m² d’espace de bureaux conçus pour satisfaire les exigences des certifications HQE et BREEAM « Excellent ". L’aménagement devrait être terminé en 2017.Cette opération est le deuxième engagement d’achat en huit mois de Standard Life Investments concernant l’aménagement de bureaux dans la région de Paris, faisant suite à celui conclu à Levallois-Perret en décembre 2014.

La rémunération moyenne des dépôts et placements monétaires a légèrement diminué en juillet pour s'établir à 0,46% apèrs 0,48% en juin, selon des statistiques communiquées par la Banque de France. Cette évolution est due principalement à la baisse du taux des dépôts à terme inférieur à 2 ans, à 1,09% après 1,19%, et dans une moindre mesure, au recul du taux des livrets ordinaires (0,72% après 0,76%).
