Le Venezuela a raté deux échéances de remboursement de dette et se trouve donc en défaut de paiement sur ces deux emprunts obligataires, a estimé mercredi l’agence de notation S&P, qui confirme par ailleurs le statut de défaut partiel du pays pétrolier. «Le Venezuela a raté des paiements de 237 millions de dollars sur ses emprunts obligataires à échéance 2025 et 2026», ne parvenant pas à rembourser même à l’issue de la période de grâce de 30 jours, a souligné l’agence dans un communiqué.
Le Conseil de résolution unique (CRU), l’organisme de l’Union européenne (UE) chargé de procéder à la liquidation ordonnée des établissements faillis et de fixer les seuils de capital, a confirmé hier que la période de transition donnée aux banques pour atteindre leurs exigences de fonds propres et d’engagement éligibles (MREL, en anglais) irait de 1 à 4 ans, selon le profil de chaque banque. Le niveau de MREL doit être décidé par le FRU pour chaque banque dans la première moitié de l’année 2018. Les coûts de financement devraient augmenter pour les banques en raison du type de dette qu’elles doivent émettre. Le CRU a en effet annoncé hier qu’elles devront ainsi détenir au moins 12% de dette subordonnée, plus aisément dépréciable que de la dette prioritaire, mais plus onéreuse car le créancier court un plus grand risque.
La confiance des ménages dans la zone euro a atteint en novembre son niveau le plus élevé depuis le début 2001, signe que l’accélération de la croissance économique observée cette année dans l’union monétaire a de bonnes chances de se poursuivre en 2018. La Commission européenne a annoncé mercredi que son indice de confiance des ménages s'était hissé à 0,1 ce mois-ci, contre -1,1 en octobre. Les économistes interrogés par le Wall Street Journal s’attendaient à une amélioration moins marquée de l’indice, à -0,9. L’enquête de la Commission européenne a été réalisée avant l'échec des négociations sur la formation d’un gouvernement de coalition en Allemagne, la première puissance économique de la zone euro. Mais depuis le début de l’année, les citoyens européens ont surtout réagi à la baisse du chômage et au renforcement de la croissance.

Le NSFR a été déterminé par le Comité de Bâle en 2014. Dans la loi helvétique, l’Ordonnance sur les liquidités «formule des exigences qualitatives et quantitatives en termes de liquidités des banques», explique la Finma, le superviseur bancaire local, sur son site internet.

It invests in senior secured corporate loans, issued by primarily European borrowers and typically rated BB- or B+.The fund is managed by BNPP AM’s global loans team, headed by Vanessa Ritter, consisting of 18 investment professionals, all with extensive corporate banking backgrounds, together with eight dedicated middle office staff. The team is split between New York and Paris, and forms part of the 50 person private debt & real assets investment group, established earlier this year under the leadership of David Bouchoucha.The global loans team has recently hired two new credit analysts, based in Paris. It has been a fine year for Acatis. The German independent multi-boutique, which in its country is on the cutting edge of value management, led by its high-profile founder, Dr. Leber, has posted inflows of EUR1bn from the beginning of the year to 9 October, Marie Ballorain, chief development officer for France and Belgium at Acatis, has told NewsManagers. Assets under management total EUR4.4bn, compared with about EUR3.3bn as of the end of December 2016. Of this total, mandates represent EUR700m to EUR800m, while international assets total about EUR800m, of which EUR500m come from Switzerland and EUR150m to EUR200m from France. Among the most popular startegies from Acaties is the flexible strategy Acatis Gané Value Event, whose assets not total over EUR1.7bn, and in which Allianz Global Investors has invested over EUR10m. The fund has earned returns of 10.2% in the first 10 months of the year. The bond fund Acatis IfK Value Renten, with assets totalling nearly EUR900m, is also highly popular with investors. Its returns are 7.2% over 10 months.
Ardian on 21 November announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire Competence Call Center (CCC), a specialist in professional process outsourcing services in Europe. The investment will be made via the Ardian Expansion Fund IV from Silverfleet Capital, which entered the capital of CCC in December 2013. The financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed. Following the transaction, the management team, led by Christian Legat (CEO), Ulf Herbrechter (COO) and Thomas Nemec (CFO), will control a “significant stake in the company, and will continue to lead CCC in this new phase of growth,” Ardian says in a statement. CCC, founded in Austria in 1998, is now based in Berlin, and has 5,500 employees. Ardian has previously been a CCC investor via its Axa Expansion Fund II between 2009 and 2013, a time in which the team supported the company in the implementation of its international growth strategy.
H2O AM, led by Bruno Crastes, has recently recruited Romain Mercier as portfolio manager in London. Mercier officially joined the asset management firm in July, according to his LinkedIn profile. Mercier joins from Amundi in London, where he had worked for slightly over 12 years in various positions, including deputy head of risk mamangement, and absolute return portfolio manager. According to Citywire Selector, which broke the news, Mercier will work alongside Pascal Dubreuil, also formerly of Amundi, to manage the H2O MultiAggregate fund.
The Flavia group, controlled by Cinven, has recruited Luca Matassino as head of sales, responsible for networks at its affiliate Old Mutual Wealth italy, Bluerating reports. Before that, Matassino had been executive director and deputy head of wholesale in Italy at UBS Asset Management, responsible for distribution channels, and head of advising. Before that, he spent seven years at Fidelity International.
The Italian private bank Banco Azzoaglio and CNP Partners are teaming up to launch CNP Azzoaglio PIR, a life insurance policy eligible for the PIR individual savings plan. The investment options offered by the product include segregated management (up to 10% of investments), 14 OPCVM funds managed by the largest Italian asset management firms, and two foreign Sicavs, as well as one internal fund, whose management is outsourced to Edmond de Rothschild.
The German private bank Donner & Reuschel, based in Hamburg, has launched a fund dedicated to high-level sport, which offers institutional investors access to profits derived from media rights, and to real estate and private equity stakes in sport. The fund is being launched in partnership with the consulting firm Sports Advisory International, based in Munich, whose two representatives, Robert Niemann and Martin Wolf, will act as advisors. “With this innovative strategy, we are giving investors access to a new asset class, hitherto reserved for major venture capital firms and companies,” says Thomas Ronfeld, head of primary markets at Donner & Reuschel.The fund will invest primarily in the commercial part of sport activities, with a priority on rights for football and leisure: rebroadcasting rights, stakes in clubs, sport infrastructure, equipment and training centres for high-level athletes. Donner & Reuschel has a size objective of EUR200m, with a minimum investment of EUR1m, and annual returns hoped to be 8% before costs for a life cycle until 2028.
Bankia Fondos, the asset management affiliate of the Spanish Bankia group, has launched Bankia Gestion Valor, a new fund of funds aimed at clients of the private bank Bankia Banca Privada, the specialist website Funds People reports. The new product will invest primarily in value funds from Spanish independent asset management firms, which invest nationally, throughout Europe, or globally. The new fund adopts the same investment straetgy as the fund of funds Bankia Gestion de Autor, launched in 2014, which now has EUR80m in assets under management.
Invesco PowerShares on 20 November announced the launch of three new bond ETFs aimed at European investors. The three products concerned are PowerShares USD Corporate Bond Ucits ETF, PowerShares Euro Corporate Bond Ucits ETF and, lastly, PowerShares Emerging Markets USD Bond Ucits ETF. The PowerShares USD Corporate Bond Ucits fund tracks the Bloomberg Barclays USD Investment Grade Corporate Liquidity-Screened Bond index, and offers annual fees among the lowest in the market, at 0.16%. The average rating for the underlying assets of the index are A-, while the industrial sector represents about 60% of sectoral allocation. The second fund, entitled PowerShares Euro Corporate Bond Ucits ETF, tracks the Bloomberg Barclays Euro Corporate index, and also offers annual fees of 0.16%. The average rating of the underlying assets is also A-, with the industrial sector representing slightly over 50% of the sectoral allocation. Lastly, the PowerShares Emerging Markets USD Bond Ucits ETF tracks the Bloomberg Barclays Emerging Markets USD Sovereign Bond index, and has annual fees of 0.35%. The average rating of the underlying assets is BB+. The top five countries in the index are Argentina, Indonesia, Turkey, Mexico, and Saudi Arabia. Invesco PowerShares currently has USD29.8bn in assets under management in bond ETFs. The European bond Etfs are managed by a team of six professionals, led by Jeff Kernagis.

The promoters of ETFs enjoyed net inflows of +EUR6.6 bn in Europe for October, according to Detlef Glow, Head of EMEA research at Thomson Reuters Lipper and author of the latest European ETF Market Review. These flows were at the same level as the flows for September but were still below the rolling 12-month average of EUR6.9 bn. The overall net inflows into ETFs in Europe stood at EUR74.9 bn for the year 2017 so far. The assets under management in the European ETF industry, at EUR621.9 bn, increased for October, up from EUR600.9 bn at the end of September. Equity ETFs (+EUR5.8 bn) posted the highest net inflows of the European ETF industry for October. The bestselling Lipper global classification for October was Equity Global (+EUR1.4 bn), followed by Equity Japan (+EUR1.2 bn) and Equity Eurozone (+EUR0.7 bn). The ten bestselling funds gathered total net inflows of EUR2.6 bn for October. iShares was the bestselling ETF promoter in Europe for October (+EUR2.3 bn), ahead of Xtrackers (+EUR1.6 bn) and Amundi ETF (+EUR0.6 bn). The bestselling ETF for October, db x-trackers MSCI World Index UCITS ETF 1C, accounted for net inflows of EUR0.5 bn or 7.39% of the overall net inflows.
Artemid, an investment company specialised in financing French mid-sized businesses, an affiliate of Capzanine and Amiral Gestion, yesterday announced the appointment of Annie-Laure Servel as chief investment officer (CIO). Servel, who joined Artemid in 2015, had since that date served as a partner and senior manager. Servel holds a Master 2 in corporate finance from the Université de Rennes, and began her professional career at the Roullier group (agribusiness, agricultural supplies and agricultural chemicals) in 1992, as international treasurer for one of its affiliates. In 1998, she became group treasurer for the holding company. In 2001, she joined CA Indosuez, which was renamed as Calyon in 2003 as the finance and investment banking bank of the Crédit Agricole group, as senior banker. In 2007, she became director of structured finance and LBOs, and then became co-head of LBOs in 2009, and lastly, in 2011, head of corporate structured finance and LBOs at Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank (CACIB, the new name of Calyon). Artemid has EUR630m in assets under management, and its new fund, which can be expected to reach a hard cap at EUR400m as of 31 December 2017, is already engaged in eight deals for a total of EUR107m.
Swiss Life Asset Managers Real Estate France has announced the sale of Victorial Rivoli, an office property located rue Saint Denis in Paris, at the center of Les Halles. The sale was made by Swiss Life REIM (France) on behalf of Swiss Life France. The stone-built, corner property has rental area of about 1,600 square metres of offices, and 300 square metres of commercial space at the foot of the building, for an overall total area of 2,241 square metres. It is wholly leased to two tenants.

Une belle année pour Acatis. La multiboutique allemande indépendante, qui creuse outre-Rhin le sillon de la gestion value sous la houlette de son fondateur très apprécié, le docteur Leber, a enregistré une collecte de 1 milliard d’euros depuis le début de l’année jusqu'à la date du 9 octobre, a indiqué à NewsManagers Marie Ballorain, directrice du développement France et Belgique chez Acatis. Les actifs sous gestion ont ainsi atteint 4,4 milliards d’euros contre environ 3,3 milliards d’euros à fin décembre 2016. Sur ce total, les mandats représentent de 700 à 800 millions d’euros tandis que l’international totalise environ 800 millions d’euros, dont 500 millions d’euros émanant de la Suisse et 150 à 200 millions d’euros de la France.Parmi les stratégies très recherchées d’Acatis figure toujours la stratégie flexible Acatis Gané Value Event, dont les encours s'élèvent désormais à plus de 1,7 milliard d’euros et dans laquelle Allianz Global Investors a investi plusieurs dizaines de millions d’euros. Le fonds a dégagé une performance de 10,2% sur les dix premiers mois de l’année. Le fonds obligataire Acatis IfK Value Renten, dont l’encours se rapproche des 900 millions d’euros, est également très apprécié des investisseurs. Sa performance ressort à 7,2% sur dix mois.
La banque privée allemande Donner & Reuschel, basée à Hambourg, vient de lancer un fonds dédié au sport de haut niveau, qui offre aux investisseurs institutionnels un accès aux bénéfices tirés des droits médiatiques, ainsi que des participations du private equity et de l’immobilier dans le sport. Le fonds est lancé en partenariat avec la société de conseil Sports Advisory International, basée à Munich, dont deux représentants, Robert Niemann et Martin Wolf, vont intervenir en tant que conseillers. «Avec cette stratégie innovante, nous donnons aux investisseurs un accès à une toute nouvelle classe d’actifs, jusqu’ici réservée aux grandes sociétés de capital investissement et aux entreprises», commente Thomas Ronfeld, responsable des Primary Markets chez Donner & Reuschel.La valeur des clubs professionnels européens et les coûts de retransmission se sont accrus d’environ 9% par an depuis le tournant du siècle, relève la banque privée dans un communiqué. «Le secteur du sport et des loisirs va continuer de bénéficier de la numérisation, alors que les droits médiatiques, les données et le eSport seront les grands moteurs de croissance de l’avenir», estime Martin Wolf. Le fonds investira surtout dans la partie commerciale des activités sportives, avec une priorité donnée aux droits sur le football et les loisirs : droits de retransmission, participations dans les clubs, infrastructures sportives, équipementiers et centres d’entraînement pour les sportifs de haut niveau.Donner & Reuschel a un objectif de taille de 200 millions d’euros, le ticket d’entrée étant fixé à 1 million d’euros, et le rendement annuel espéré étant de 8% avant coûts pour une durée de vie jusqu’en 2028.
La société d’investissement Terra Firma Capital Partners chercher à lever 3 milliards d’euros pour son quatrième fonds de capital-investissement, rapporte Private Equity News qui cite une source proche du dossier. Après avoir initié sa démarche au début du mois d’octobre, la société a multiplié les rencontres avec des investisseurs au sein de son bureau de Londres et à travers le monde, selon cette même source. Si l’opération est couronnée de succès, il s’agirait du premier fonds levé par Terra Firma depuis près de dix ans.
