Elle a effectué l’essentiel de sa carrière au sein de la société Link Securities, où elle officiait depuis plus de 18 ans en tant qu’analyste actions senior, spécialisée sur les petites et moyennes capitalisations espagnoles.
Le gestionnaire d’actifs américain BlackRock a nommé Ivan Pascual au poste de responsable commercial pour l’Europe, le Moyen-Orient et l’Afrique (EMEA) pour l’activité ETF de iShares et de fonds indiciels, rapporte le site Funds People. Dans le cadre de ses nouvelles fonctions, l’intéressé sera en charge de tous les canaux de distribution – particuliers, institutionnels et distributeurs – pour l’ensemble de la région EMEA. Il sera basé à Londres. Au cours des quatre dernières années, Ivan Pascual a été responsable de la distribution pour l’Amérique latine et la péninsule ibérique de BlackRock.
La société de gestion espagnole Dunas Capital prépare le lancement de son premier fonds de capital-risque, baptisé Rainforest Dunas Iberia, rapporte le site Cinco Dias. Il s’agit du premier fonds de fonds espagnol dont l’univers d’investissement se limite aux marchés espagnol et portugais. L’objectif de Dunas Capital est de lever environ 100 millions d’euros, selon des sources proches du dossier citées par Cinco Dias. Le nouveau véhicule sera lancé via Inverseguros Gestion, société acquise par Dunas Capital en 2016.
BlackRock and Amundi are inspiring imitators. Following the example of the two asset management giants, who have developed services and solutions aimed at asset managers, Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management (Edram) is launching a range of services dedicated to institutional managers. “We are following the model of BlackRock Solutions and Amundi Services, which are aimed at very large asset managers,” Serge Wayland, CEO of Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management, tells NewsManagers. “Our product range, however, is aimed at boutiques. But we are in the same niche and with the same spirit: it’s a question of mutualising developments to serve the needs of asset management for third party managers.”The Extended Outsourcing Services (EOS), a new range of services, is based on a range of portfolio management and distribution tools originally developed for the internal needs of the group. Edram is no novice in this area, as since 1988 it has been offering third-party managers its Institutional and Fund Services activities, which cover the activities of hedge fund and mutual fund asset management firms, and back-office services (fund administration, depository banking). “The Extended Outsourcing Services (EOS) are a complement to our Insitutional and Fund Services, which exclusively target smaller institutional managers,” says Weyland. “This new service is based on an infrastructure which we have developed internally for the needs of our asset management activities.”EOS, which targets fund managers and institutional mandates with EUR1bn to EUR10bn in assets under management, is centred on two product ranges: EOS Portfolio Management, on the one hand, and on the other hand, EOS Distribution Management. “EOS Portfolio Management is based on our own management platform, based on the Dimension solution from SimCorp, which has been under development since 2009,” says Weyland. “We think this platform has reached a level of maturity that now represents a differentiating tool for third-party managers, especially boutiques and conviction managers, for all asset classes.” EOS Portfolio Management represents a complete front-to-back solution, integrating middle office and data management services. This can be used for pre-trade compliance controls, liability-driven management, and management of currency hedging, among other uses.EOS Portfolio Management, which has recently gone on sale to existing clients, has already been turning heads, as “we already have three clients on our platform,” Weyland notes, adding that the firm “is now entering a wider sales phase for our various professions.” Edram is planning to continue to invest in the platform, to add new functionality. “Eventually, we are planning to integrate ESG abilities,” says Weyland. “We are working to automate ESG screening for our portfolios with the SimCorp Dimension solution.”The EOS Distribution Management product range, based on the Dynamics solution from Microsoft, is an exhaustive CRM tool. “This is a CRM tool which we have developed for the needs of the fund distribution team at Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management,” says Weyland. “However, we have done some extensive work to adapt the tool to meet the particular commercial and fund sales management needs of asset managers.” Using this tool, sales teams can monitor all contact with distributors and all subscription/redemption operations by distributors, as well as marking of orders and management of commissions, among other functions.The EOS product range targets all major core markets for the group in Europe, including the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and France, as well as Germany and Austria. “In these markets, smaller managers have no real alternatives for outsourcing,” says Weyland. “Either they choose standard products which don’t cover all their needs, or they have to invest to develop an internal platform, which is very time-consuming and generates very high costs.”The launch of the EOS product range can also be expected to contribute to the growth of the firm, which is driving major commercial ambitions. “Our institutional and fund services business for third-party managers represents about EUR20bn, and we want to double these assets by 2022,” says Weyland. “This new EOS offer will help us achieve that objective.”

GAM assets under management, including investment management and private labelling, of CHF 146.1 billion at 30 September 2018, are down from CHF 163.8 billion at 30 June 2018, said the swiss group. The unconstrained/absolute return bond («ARBF») strategies contributed CHF 10.8 billion to the decrease in assets under management. «The consequences of the suspension of an ARBF investment director marked a clear setback for GAM. We are taking immediate and near-term measures to support GAM’s profitability. We have a stable and diversified business that we continue to build upon and we remain fully focused on delivering the investment returns expected by our clients.», said Group CEO Alexander S. Over the five-year period, 54% of assets in funds were outperforming (57% as at 30 June 2018). Looking at Morningstar data, 77% and 78% (76% and 78% respectively as at 30 June 2018) of GAM’s applicable investment management assets in funds are outperforming their respective peer groups. Assets under management in private labelling, which provides management company services for third parties, totalled CHF 79.3 billion compared to CHF 79.4 billion as at 30 June 2018. Net inflows amounted to CHF 0.4 billion, while market and foreign exchange movements led to a CHF 0.5 billion decrease in assets under management.
An explosive device was found on Monday in a mailbox at the Westchester County home of George Soros, the billionaire philanthropist who is a favorite target of right-wing groups, the authorities said, reports the New York Times.A law enforcement official confirmed that the device was found near Mr. Soros’s home. Generali has entered into an agreement with the German Group Union Asset Management Holding AG to acquire a 100% stake in the Polish asset management company Union Investment TFI S.A. The transaction is subject to approvals by regulatory authorities. The acquisition of the Polish asset manager Union Investment TFI will significantly strengthen Generali’s presence in Poland.Union Investment TFI is Poland’s 6th largest asset management company with an Asset under Management of €3.3bn. It has approximately 135,000 retail investors and 550 institutional investors and boasts a broad range of fund products across equities, fixed income and absolute return. The British Alliance Trust group on 20 October announced that it has signed an agreement to sell its affiliate Alliance Trust Savings to Interactive Investor, the second-largest investment platform in the United Kingdom. The sale price is GBP40m, Alliance Trust has announced in a statement. Interactive Investor will also take over the Alliance Trust Savings building, in Dundee, Scotland, where the firm is based. The merged company will have GBP35bn in asses under management, and 400,000 clients.

La société de gestion italienne Azimut va acquérir l’intégralité du capital de la société australienne McKinley Plowman Group (MP) par le biais de sa filiale locale AZ Next Generation Advisory pour un montant de 9,2 millions d’euros. MP a été fondée en 1997 par Nigel Plowman et Murray McKinley à Joondalup, dans la périphérie nord de Perth. Lancée comme une société de comptabilité générale, elle s’est affirmée comme l’une des principales sociétés de services financiers en Australie occidentale, relate un communiqué. Aujourd’hui, l’équipe comprend des experts comptables et spécialistes de la fiscalité, des professionnels des entreprises, de la gestion de fortune, de l’immobilier, du transfert des retraites, du marketing et de la finance.L’accord prévoit, pour 49 % du capital, un échange d’actions MP contre des actions AZ NGA et un rachat progressif de ces actions sur les 10 prochaines années. Les 51 % qui restent seront payés en numéraire aux actionnaires sur deux ans. Cette nouvelle acquisition en Australie permet à Azimut d’atteindre un encours de 4,6 milliards d’euros d’encours gérés sur le continent.
Banca Generali, la banque privée du groupe d’assurances italien Generali gérant plus de 58 milliards d’euros, a présenté une offre de rachat ferme pour 100 % du capital de Nextam Partners, société de gestion d’actifs italienne représentant 5,5 milliards d’euros d’encours conseillés et 1,3 milliard d’encours sous gestion.L’offre a été acceptée par les actionnaires, qui sont à 80 % les trois associés fondateurs : Carlo Gentili, Alessandro Michahelles et Nicola Ricolfi.Le groupe Nextam Partners se compose de Nextam Partners SGR et Nextam Partners SIM, deux sociétés basées à Milan et Florence, ainsi que de Nextam Partners Ltd, installée à Londres. La collecte des fonds éligibles au plan d’épargne individuel italien (PIR) se maintient, mais les performances plongent, constate Plus, le supplément argent de Il Sole – 24 Ore. Sur 50 produits analysés, celui qui s’est comporté le mieux, AcomeA Patrimonio Esente P2, a perdu 2,91 % depuis le début de l’année au 12 octobre. Le fonds le moins bon, Consultinvest Risparmio Italia, a quant à lui abandonné 13,34 %. Aucun des fonds n’a donc affiché une performance positive, ce qui n’est pas étonnant vu que tous les indices de la Bourse de Milan sont orientés à la baisse sur la période. Malgré cela, les fonds ont collecté en septembre 95,6 millions d’euros.

Très mauvais trimestre pour le suisse GAM. La liquidation des stratégies ARBF (absolute return bond fund) a lourdement pesé sur les résultats du troisième trimestre. Les actifs sous gestion du groupe ont ainsi chuté à 146,1 milliards de francs suisses au 30 septembre 2018 contre 163,8 milliards de francs à fin juin 2018, a annoncé ce matin la société de gestion. La liquidation des stratégies ARBF a contribué à cette baisse de 17,7 milliards de francs d’un trimestre sur l’autre pour un montant de 10,8 milliards de francs, précise un communiqué.Dans le détail, le pôle «Investment Management», qui regroupe les fonds maison, affiche des sorties nettes de 5,3 milliards de francs suisses au troisième trimestre dans les fonds autres que les stratégies ARBF ainsi qu’un impact marché négatif de 1,5 milliard de francs, qui viennent s’ajouter à la liquidation des stratégies ARBF. Résultat, les actifs sous gestion dupôle chutent à 66,8 milliards de francs à fin septembre contre 84,4 milliards de francs trois mois plus tôt. Le communiqué relève que le mouvement de décollecte s’est ralenti au mois d’octobre.Parallèlement, la division «Private Labelling», spécialisée dans les produits en marque blanche, a réalisé une collecte nette de 0,4 milliard de francs alors que la bonne tenue des marchés a été effacée par des mouvements négatifs sur les devises. Les actifs sous gestion sont demeurés stables à 79,3 milliards de francs à fin septembre contre 79,4 milliards de francs trois mois plus tôt.
Vontobel, qui annonçait en fin de semaine dernière l’acquisition du portefeuille de clients privés internationaux de Lombard domiciliés aux Etats-Unis, veut accélérer son développement outre-Atlantique. L’activité de Vontobel Swiss Wealth Advisors (VSWA), détenue à 100% par le groupe suisse et qui couvre la clientèle nord-américaine, est déjà rentable mais cette acquisition devrait permettre d’accélérer le rythme de croissance des activités. Dans un entretien au site spécialisé finews, Patrice Humbel, responsable de VSWA depuis mars dernier, indique que l’objectif est de porter les encours de la gestion de fortune en Amérique du Nord à 5 milliards de francs d’ici à 2020, contre environ 3 milliards actuellement.
Chez BlackRock, l’heure est venue de s’intéresser sérieusement aux grands pays d’Europe continentale, tels que la France, l’Italie et l’Allemagne, écrit le quotidien Les Echos. « En France, en Allemagne et en Italie, la part de marché de BlackRock est relativement faible, note Jean-François Cirelli, président de BlackRock France, Belgique et Luxembourg, cité par le quotidien économique. Or ces pays sont des bassins d’épargne importants, principalement orientés vers les produits sans risque » Pour accélérer son développement sur ces marchés, les équipes ont été étoffées : ces cinq dernières années, les effectifs ont doublé en Allemagne, en Suisse, en Italie et en France. Larry Fink a par ailleurs développé des relations privilégiées avec les dirigeants européens, a l’image d’Emmanuel Macron qu’il a rencontré à plusieurs reprises. Les chiffres sont là. L’encours de dette française détenue par BlackRock a atteint 32 milliards de dollars en août 2018, un montant qui a plus que doublé en un an. Le géant américain est également exposé à hauteur de 98 milliards de dollars aux actions françaises et l’un des principaux actionnaires du CAC40. La création d’une société de gestion à Paris, cet automne, constitue à cet égard une étape essentielle. « L’échéance du Brexit a joué un rôle d’accélérateur, explique Jean-François Cirelli. Il y a eu une prise de conscience : le développement européen de BlackRock ne se fera pas à partir de Londres. » Désormais, « Paris devient le hub de BlackRock en Europe pour l’investissement alternatif, comme l’Irlande héberge l’une des plates-formes d’investissement de BlackRock pour les gestions indicielles et quantitatives », illustre Jean-François Cirelli.
Le groupe britannique Alliance Trust a annoncé, ce 20 octobre, la signature d’un accord en vue de la cession de sa filiale Alliance Trust Savings à Interactive Investor, la deuxième plus grande plateforme d’investissement au Royaume-Uni. Le montant de l’opération s’élève à 40 millions de livres, indique Alliance Trust dans un communiqué. Interactive Investor reprendra également l’immeuble d’Alliance Trust Savings basé à Dundee, en Ecosse, où est installée la société. Le nouvel ensemble affichera, à terme, 35 milliards de livres d’actifs sous gestion et sous administration. Il totalisera également 400.000 clients.
Investec Asset Management (Investec AM) vient de recruter Nidhi Mahurkar en qualité de directrice d’investissement au sein de son équipe dédiée aux actions des marchés émergents, rapporte Citywire Selector. Dans le cadre de ses nouvelles fonctions, l’intéressée se concentrera plus particulièrement sur les offres axées sur l’Asie, la Chine et les pays émergents et elle officiera au sein de l’équipe d’investissement 4Factor Equity d’Investec AM. Dans ce cadre, elle sera rattachée à Greg Kuhnert, gérant de portefeuille en charge des stratégies Investec All China et Asian Equity.Nidhi Mahurkar rejoint Investec AM quatre ans après avoir quitté Pictet Asset Management où elle a officié pendant 13 ans et a joué un rôle majeur dans le développement de l’expertise sur les actions asiatiques et marchés émergents. Au sein de Pictet AM, elle a notamment officié en qualité de co-responsable des actions pour les marchés émergents à l’échelle mondiale et de responsable de l’Asie hors Japon.
AXA Investment Managers a annoncé ce 22 octobre le regroupement de ses différentes équipes basées Londres au sein d’un même bâtiment en cours de construction, la tour Twentytwo (22 Bishopsgate), probablement dans le courant du premier semestre 2020. «C’est un déménagement très excitant pour notre personnel de Londres, un centre d’investissement crucial pour les clients d’AXA IM dans le monde. Le déménagement permettra de rassembler nos équipes basées à Londres sous un même toit, ce qui permettra d’améliorer et d’actualiser les outils technologiques qui accompagnent nos collaborateurs tout en vivant et respirant notre philosophie d’investissement responsable compte tenu des caractéristiques durable de l’immeuble», a commenté Andreas Rossi, directeur général d’AXA Investment Managers, cité dans un communiqué.Les équipes londoniennes se trouvent actuellement au 7 Newgate Street et au 155 Bishopsgate. La tour Twentywo, qui développe sur 62 étages plus de 9.000 mètres carrés de différentes surfaces, pourra accueillir jusqu'à 12.000 occupants et visiteurs. Elle affiche les plus hauts standards en termes de technologies et de certification durable. Cet immeuble sera notamment le premier au Royaume-Uni à mettre en oeuvre le Delos Well Building Standard, expérimenté par Delos et administré par la société d’utilité publique International Well Building Institute (IWBI), et qui a été certifié par une tierce partie grâce à la collaboration entre IWBI et Green Business Certification Inc, l’organisme de certification du système de notation des bâtiments vers LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).
Le plancher des 5.000 points a craqué. Pour la première fois depuis août 2017, le CAC 40 est tombé ce matin sous cette barre. L’indice de la Bourse de Paris a ouvert à 4.991,91 points, avant de tomber à un plus bas de 4.961,78 points dans le courant de la matinée. Il perd ainsi plus de 6,5% depuis le début de l’année et près de 10% en un mois. La correction est généralisée. A Londres, le FTSE 100 cède 1,05% et à Francfort le DAX perd 2,5%. L’indice européen STOXX 600 recule de 1,6%. Les marchés asiatiques ont également fortement baissé ce matin.
Groupama AM s’est associé avec Tikehau Capital pour lancer un fonds de financement de l’économie, Groupama Tikehau Diversified Debt Fund (GTDDF), dédié au financement des PME européennes et surtout françaises. Ce fonds professionnel, à échéance 12 ans, a réalisé un premier closing de 115 millions d’euros. Sa gestion est déléguée à Tikehau IM. Sa commercialisation s’étalera jusqu’en mars 2020. Il «proposera des solutions de crédit long terme différenciantes (obligations, euro PP ou unitranche) pour des montants unitaires de 1 à 10 millions d’euros», précise un communiqué.
