Nomura Asset Management U.S.A. a transformé son fonds High Yield en Nomura High Yield, un fonds d’obligations à haut rendement, dont le lancement aux Etats-Unis est annoncé par voie de communiqué. La gestion du produit est déléguée à la société Nomura Corporate Research and Asset Management, basée à New York et spécialisée dans la gestion des obligations haut rendement. Cette structure, qui appartient au groupe Nomura, gère un encours de 14,7 milliards de dollars à fin octobre. Le nouveau fonds sera distribué par SEI Investments Distribution.
Bradesco Asset Management a conclu un partenariat avec FTSE Group pour lancer un fonds dédié aux actions latino-américaines qui sera basé sur un nouvel indice comprenant des signatures de qualité sélectionnées dans la région. Tant le fonds que l’indice sont construits selon des principes de smart beta, qui se concentrent sur des facteurs tels que la faible volatilité, la qualité et la valorisation relative. L’objectif est de proposer aux investisseurs européens et latino-américains une exposition diversifiée aux actions latino-américaines avec une orientation vers des facteurs spécifiques qui ont dégagé du rendement dans une perspective historique. Le Bradesco Global Funds -FTSE latin America Quality Value Equity, enregistré au Luxembourg, se concentrera sur les entreprises de qualité au Brésil, au Chili, en Colombie, au Mexique et au Pérou assorties de valorisations raisonnables. Ce fonds est le septième au format Ucits au sein de l’offre de Bradesco AM.

La transaction porte sur un montant initial de 360,3 millions de francs, précise un communiqué.La rumeur avait circulé pendant plusieurs semaines. La BCZ avait confirmé l’existence de négociations en vue d’une acquisition. L’opération peut intervenir sans feu vert immédiat de l’Autorité de surveillance des marchés financiers (Finma), indique dans un communiqué séparé la Banque cantonale bernoise (BCBE) qui détient 7,6% du capital de Swisscanto La Finma ainsi que des instances étrangères donneront normalement leur aval au cours du premier trimestre 2015. La BCBE signale encaisser un montant de 33,3 millions de francs, grâce à sa participation. De son côté, la Banque cantonale de Genève (BCGE) détenait 2,33% du capital-actions de la société. Le rachat par la BCZ prend effet rétroactivement au 1er juillet dernier. Les 23 établissements vendeurs de leurs actions pourraient par ailleurs recevoir des sommes supplémentaires entre 2016 et 2018 en fonction de l'évolution des affaires de Swisscanto.
La banque privée Notenstein Privatbank a recruté un nouveau responsable pour ses activités en Suisse en la personne de Martin Liebi qui devrait prendre ses fonctions à compter du mois de mai 2015, selon un communiqué publié le 10 décembre. Le poste était vacant depuis le printemps dernier. Martin Liebi travaillait précédemment chez Bank Schroder & Co, où il était depuis 2008 membre du comité de direction et responsable de la gestion des relations clients pour la Suisse.

La société de gestion suisse Vontobel Asset Management, actuellement intégrée dans Bank Vontobel AG, interviendra à l’avenir en tant qu’entité juridique indépendante filiale à 100% de Vontobel Holding AG, selon un communiqué publié le 10 décembre. A l’origine de cette nouvelle orientation stratégique, la décision de créer les conditions de la poursuite de la croissance de l’entité sur le marché international de la gestion d’actifs. La nouvelle entité s’appellera Vontobel Asset Management AG, sous réserve de l’approbation de l’autorité des marchés Finma et du feu vert de l’assemblée générale qui se tiendra le 29 avril 2015.
Le fonds souverain de l’Angola va allouer 1,1 milliard de dollars à un fonds d’infrastructures et 500 millions de dollars à un fonds investi dans les hôtels, rapporte le Financial Times. Le premier fonds investira dans des projets (énergie, transport,…) en Afrique sub-saharienne. Le fonds souverain est investi à 62 % dans des obligations. Pour le moment, il s’appuie sur un seul conseiller, Quantum Global, une société de gestion suisse, mais Jose Filomeno Dos Santos, président du fonds, indique que d’autres devraient être sollicitées.
Le groupe Edmond de Rothschild a renforcé son équipe de gestion de fortune à Francfort. Christoph Schmidbauer et Benjamin Nuspl ont rejoint récemment la division Private Merchant Banking au poste de gérants de portefeuille, annonce un communiqué de presse. Il seront en charge de la gestion de fortune des clients entrepreneurs.

Mariais began his career in 1975 at Oddo, where he led the entire asset management department from 1980 to 1998. He then joined Rothschild & Cie Gestion, as director of management and development of entrepreneurial private clients. In September 2009, he created the BG Exclusif FCP. Robeaux joined Oddo & Cie in 1989, to create the IFA distribution department. In 1993, he joined the sales direction office at the insurer Erisa, an affiliate of CCF. In 1997, he participated in creating the French arm of the British firm General Accident (now Aviva), and represented Winterthur Europe Vie in France. In 2000, he returned to ERISA as a member of the board of directors, and participated in the entry of HSBC into the CCF group. Mahé began his career at Rothschild & Cie Banque in 1990. He joined Rothschild & Cie Gestion in 1997 to participate in the launch of its “Sélection R” platform, dedicated to IFAs, as head of marketing. He was then promoted to deputy director of Rothschild & Cie Gestion. After the acquisition of the platform by the bank Privée 1818 in April 2011, he joined the new entity created, “Sélection 1818,” as head of operational marketing.

He succeeds Terence Wong, who has become vice chairman of the board of directors at Generali Investments Asia. Hedge funds recorded their fifth consecutive month of redemptions in November, bringing net asset outflows in second half of 2014 at USD26.3 billion - their lowest level on record since second half of 2011 when investors redeemed USD71.9 billion, according to Eurekahedge.Hedge funds rebounded from the prior two months’ losses with the Eurekahedge Hedge Fund Index up 1.46% in November while the MSCI World Index is up 2.34%. On a year-to-date basis, hedge funds are up 4.66%, falling behind underlying markets as the MSCI World Index returned 7.65% over the same period.

The objective is to offer European and Latin American investors diversified exposure to Latin American equities with an orientation to specific factors which have earned returns historically. The Bradesco Global Funds -FTSE latin America Quality Value Equity, registered in Luxembourg, will concentrate on quality businesses in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru, at reasonable valuations. The fund is the seventh in UCITS format in the Bradesco AM range.

Vontobel Asset Management – which is currently part of Bank Vontobel AG – will be run as an independent legal entity and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Vontobel Holding AG in future. The creation of an independent legal entity is in line with Vontobel Asset Management’s strategy of operating internationally. The new company will operate under the name ‘Vontobel Asset Management AG’. The transformation of the business unit into an independent legal entity is subject to the approval of the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority FINMA and the general meeting of shareholders of Bank Vontobel AG on April 29th, 2015.

Several global asset managers are already on the ground in Brazil, preparing for the opening of the mutual-fund market to cross-border opportunities, finds Cerulli Associates. A rule change will make it easier for the wealthy to invest in cross-border funds and exchange-traded funds.Even a 10% or 20% shift from domestic to international investing could translate to tens of billions of dollars of new flows into cross-border funds.About 30% of Brazil’s trillion-dollar mutual-fund market is in the hands of affluent investors, and regulators are close to approving new rules to make it easier for these investors to channel their resources to cross-border managers via local feeder funds.

The new firm would initially offer a new product in the MILA fund product range, and two vehicles which would be replicas of the Renta 4 Nexus fund, managed by Miguel Jimenez, and Renta 4 Bolsa, managed by Javier Galan.

Investors were attracted in particular to North American equity funds (+SEK2bn or EUR210m) and Swedish equity funds (+SEK1.1bn or EUR118m). Despite this, the asset class continues to show loses since the beginning of the year, of -SEK9bn (EUR967m). Balanced funds attracted the liveliest interest from Swedish investors in November, with net inflows of SEK8.1bn (EUR870m). Hedge funds also took in SEK1.4bn (EUR150m) However, money market funds and bond funds saw outflows of SEK7.8bn (EUR838m) and SEK1.1bn (EUR118m) respectively. Overall, in November, Swedish funds posted net inflows of SEK3.6bn (EUR386m). That takes assets under management to SEK2.919trn (EUR313bn), of which about 55% is in equity funds.

The new product, an actively-managed fund, proposes to identify the best stocks on a fundamental level, using investment models which take inspiration from the winning strategies of the legends of Wall Street. The portfolio includes specific investment models, each based on the strategy of an investment legend. The statement points out that the systematic approach used at Validea for stock-picking removes all market noise which may cause reactions that are counterproductive for investors.
Le rythme annuel de l’inflation en France a ralenti en novembre à 0,3%, après 0,5% le mois précédent, en raison de la baisse des prix des produits manufacturés et de l'énergie, a annoncé l’Insee. L’indicateur d’inflation sous-jacente (hors tarifs publics et produits à prix volatils) recule de 0,1% par rapport à octobre et de 0,2% par rapport à novembre 2013. «C’est la première fois que l’inflation sous-jacente est négative depuis que la série existe (1990)», souligne l’Insee.
Le gouvernement français prévoit désormais un déficit public équivalent à 4,1% du produit intérieur brut fin 2015, 3,6% fin 2016 et 2,7% fin 2017, des prévisions plus favorables que la précédente trajectoire, a annoncé jeudi le ministère des Finances. Il prévoyait auparavant de ramener le déficit à 4,3% du PIB fin 2015, après 4,4% fin 2014, puis 3,8% fin 2016 et 2,8% fin 2017. Ces modifications font suite à l’annonce en octobre d’une réduction supplémentaire de 3,6 milliards d’euros du déficit public l’an prochain et des conséquences des amendements adoptés au cours des débats sur le projet de loi de finances pour 2015 et le projet de loi de finances rectificatif pour 2014.
La Banque d’Angleterre (BoE) a annoncé jeudi qu’elle souhaitait réduire de douze à huit par an le nombre de ses réunions de politique monétaire et que, à partir d’août 2015, elle publierait les «minutes» de ses débats immédiatement après ses décisions. Le ministre britannique des Finances, George Osborne, a apporté son soutien à cette réforme, la plus importante pour le cadre de décision de la BoE depuis que cette dernière est devenue indépendante en 1998. «En supprimant le filtre actuel à l’information (...) au profit d’une annonce unique de politique monétaire, nous pensons que ces dispositions renforceront l’efficacité de notre communication en matière de politique monétaire, ce qui rendra nos signaux politiques aussi clairs que possible», a déclaré le gouverneur de la Banque d’Angleterre, Mark Carney. En l'état actuel, la BoE publie avec un délai de près de deux semaines les minutes de ses discussions au sein de son comité de politique monétaire, ainsi que la répartition des votes de ses neuf membres.
Les banques de la zone euro n’ont emprunté qu’un montant limité à la Banque centrale européenne (BCE) jeudi dans le cadre de sa deuxième opération de refinancement à plus long terme ciblée (TLTRO) : 129,84 milliards d’euros pour 306 établissements financiers. Même s’il est conforme aux attentes, ce montant plaide pour de nouvelles mesures susceptibles d’inclure l’achat de dettes souveraines.
La banque centrale russe a annoncé jeudi une nouvelle hausse de son principal taux d’intérêt, relevé de 100 points de base, à 10,5%, pour tenter de soutenir le rouble et d’endiguer l’inflation qui a atteint 9,1% en rythme annuel en novembre. La banque centrale a précisé jeudi avoir consacré sur la seule journée de mardi 348 millions de dollars (280 millions d’euros) à des interventions sur le marché des changes pour soutenir le rouble. Ces interventions ont atteint un total de 4,5 milliards de dollars sur l’ensemble de la semaine dernière.
Le gestionnaire immobilier AEW, filiale de Natixis GAM, annonce le closing final de son fonds Logistis avec 820 millions d’euros de nouveaux engagements de souscription. Cette levée de fonds est la plus importante jamais réalisée par AEW Europe et porte à 1,3 milliard le montant total d’engagements de souscription dans ce véhicule qui investit dans des parcs logistiques en Europe. «Ces fonds ont été levés auprès de plusieurs investisseurs institutionnels de premier plan en Europe et en Asie, dont APG et PGGM», indique un communiqué.
L’opération de refinancement de long terme (TLTRO) lancée ce jeudi par la Banque centrale européenne (BCE) s’est soldée par 129,84 milliards d’euros seulement empruntés par les banques. Le consensus tournait autour de 150 à 170 milliards d’euros de demande. La médiane des économistes interrogés par Reuters était de 130 milliards d’euros. Au total, 306 banques ont participé à l’opération de jeudi, a précisé la BCE.
