Banque Syz is scaling up its presence in German-speaking Switzerland, with the arrival of Thomas Bachmann and Michael Kiefer, heads of development for private clients in the Zurich, Zug and Lucerne regions, an important area for private management in Switzerland. Bachmann and Kiefer will be based in Zurich, and will report directly to Lorenzo Romano, head for Switzerland and Europe, based in Geneva. The arrival of the two senior private bankers is a core part of the growth strategy of the bank in Switzerland, “to meet the very specific needs of UNHWI and family office” clients. Bachmann has spent his entire career in private banking. For the past 20 years, he served in various client representative and management positions at several banking institutions (UBS, Crédit Suisse, Luzerner Kantonal Bank, Baloise Bank), and more rencently, as head of the Notenstein La Roche Privat Bank branch in Lucerne. Kiefer also has over 20 years of experience in private and institutional management, and has worked for the big names in Swiss finance (UBS and Crédit Suisse), where he developed a base of sophisticated and UNHWI clients, and then went on to work as an independent investment consultant. Since last year, in addition to its multi-disciplinary and bespoke wealth management services, the bank has deployed its capacities in the field of personal financial planning, and now offers mortgage and lending services and professional retirement planning products (LPP2). Syz has also founded Syz Capital, a business unit specialised in investments and advising on private markets, a statement says.
