Janus Capital International Limited, la division internationale de Janus Capital Group, enrichit la gamme de ses produits distribués à la clientèle « retail » en Italie. L’autorité de marché italienne, la Consob, vient en effet d’autoriser la commercialisation aux particuliers de cinq fonds de la société de gestion sise à Denver : trois fonds actions - Janus US Fund, Perkins Global Value Fund et Emerging Market Fund, - et deux fonds obligataires - Janus Global Investment Grade et Janus Global High-Yield Fund. «Le lancement de ces cinq fonds en Italie confirme notre stratégie commerciale, de plus en plus orientée sur le segment de la distribution aux particuliers, qui depuis janvier a accès à une gamme de fonds plus large», commente Andrea Cardone, directeur commercial pour l’Europe du Sud de Janus Capital Group. «Alors que pendant de nombreuses années nous avons offert au marché italien des produits spécialisés exclusivement sur les Etats-Unis, le temps est venu d’offrir également notre savoir-faire sur les marchés mondiaux», poursuit-il.

La société d’investissement Reinet participera, par le biais de Reinet Fund SCA, à la création d’une société globale de gestion alternative et de conseil, en partenariat avec William T. Winters, l’ancien co-CEO de JP Morgan Investment Bank, et RIT Capital Partners plc, qui est présidée par Lord (Jacob) Rothschild, rapporte L’Agefi suisse. La nouvelle société s’appelle Renshaw Bay. William Winters sera président et CEO de cette dernière. Lord Rothschild et Johann Rupert, qui contrôle Reinet, deviendront administrateurs de Renshaw Bay. William Winters détiendra initialement 50% de cette nouvelle affaire, le reste étant partagé entre Reinet, qui est cotée à Luxembourg, et RIT, une firme d’investissement cotée à Londres. Skandia annonce l’arrivée de Robin Tetlow au poste de directeur des opérations pour l’activité Europe Continentale (France et Italie). L’impétrant, qui sera responsable des opérations et de la gestion administrative des investissements, sera basé en Italie. Robin Tetlow, ancien consultant indépendant auprès d’acteurs de l’industrie des services financiers a rejoint Skandia en janvier 2011.

The new fund is advised by Philip Niem, head of discretionary management at Barclays Wealth Asia, based in Hong Kong, and his team. Niem manages USD300m in assets with the same method used for the new fund. The objective for Barclays Equity Asia is to invest in businesses expected to profit from economic growth in China, India, and other surrounding Asian countries (excluding Japan), and to outperform its benchmark index (90% MSCI AC Asia ex Japan 10% cash) by 5% per year. Allocation by country is determined on the basis of the size of the economy, the balance of payments, growth in corporate profits and price/earnings ratio for the market. Niem will then select sectors which he estimates will outperform national GDP growth. Within these sectors, the head of discretionary management will select 40 businesses. Currently, Niem favours the banking sector in India, the consumer sector in China, and commodities. The Barclays Equity Asia fund, which has recently received a sales license from the AMF, now has total assets of USD30m. It will be sold via the Barclays Wealth network, as well as to funds of funds and institutional investors.

D’après les statistiques de l’association Inverco des sociétés de gestion, l’encours moyen des 2.489 fonds enregistrés en Espagne se situait à 56 millions d’euros contre 63 millions fin 2009 et 82 millions fin 2007.L’encours total, 138,08 milliards d’euros, représentait 16,3 % du PIB fin 2010 contre 26,6 % en 2007 et 31,7 % fin 2000. Les actifs par fonds et le total des encours en pourcentage du PIB ont été fin décembre les plus bas depuis 1990, où ils ressortaient respectivement à 28 millions d’euros et à 2,2 %.
Selon des proches du dossier, le Banco Popular est en train de boucler la cession pour environ 100 millions d’euros de 60 % de sa filiale Popular Gestión à Allianz. D’après Expansión, il serait également prévu que l’assureur allemand achète aussi Popular Gestión Privada, la société de gestion de la banque privée du groupe, pour remplacer Dexia, qui revendrait ses 40 % du capital. L’accord concernant Popular Gestión prévoit que le Popular continue de distribuer les fonds de Popular Gestión dans son réseau ; de plus, la banque s’engagerait à conserver un montant minimum d’investissements dans les produits de Popular Gestión.
Barclays Wealth Managers France vient de lancer Barclays Equity Asia, un compartiment de sa Sicav luxembourgeoise investi sur les actions asiatiques.Le nouveau fonds est conseillé par Philip Niem, responsable de la gestion discrétionnaire de Barclays Wealth Asie basé à Hong-Kong, et son équipe. L’intéressé gère à ce titre 300 millions de dollars selon la même méthode utilisée pour le nouveau fonds. L’objectif du fonds Barclays Equity Asia consiste à investir dans des entreprises censées profiter de la croissance économique en Chine, en Inde et dans les pays asiatiques environnant (hors Japon), et de surperformer son indice de référence (90 % MSCI AC Asia ex Japan + 10 % cash) de 5 % par an. L’allocation pays est déterminée en fonction de la taille de l’économie, de la balance des opérations courantes, de la croissance des résultats des entreprises et du ratio cours/bénéfice du marché. Ensuite, Philip Niem sélectionne des secteurs qui, selon lui, surperformeront la croissance du PIB national. Au sein de ces secteurs, le responsable de la gestion discrétionnaire choisit une quarantaine de sociétés. Actuellement, Philip Niem privilégie le secteur bancaire en Inde, la consommation en Chine, les matières premières… Le Barclays Equity Asia, qui vient d’obtenir l’agrément de l’AMF, totalise aujourd’hui un encours de 30 millions de dollars. Il a vocation à être commercialisé dans le réseau Barclays Wealth, ainsi qu’aux fonds de fonds, investisseurs institutionnels…
APG Asset Management, la société de gestion du fonds de pension des fonctionnaires néerlandais ABP, a nommé Claudia Kruse au poste de responsable du gouvernement d’entreprise.Claudia Kruse, qui avait rejoint APG en 2009 en tant que spécialiste senior pour le développement durable et la gouvernance, prend la succession de Paul Frentrop qui a quitté l’entreprise à la fin 2010 pour créer sa propre société.
