BlackRock annonce avoir obtenu de la part de Stichting Pensioenfonds Medisch Specialisten (SPMS), le fonds de pension des médecins spécialistes néerlandais, un mandat de gestion fiduciaire afin de définir avec le fonds de pension une stratégie d’investissement et de gestion du risque. L’activité fiduciaire de BlackRock au Bénélux représente 20 milliards d’euros, indique le communiqué.
Depuis le 1er septembre, Christina Rustemeier, qui a quitté Credit Suisse, a rejoint l'équipe commerciale allemande de BNP Paribas Investment Partners (BNPP IP) qui dessert les gérants de fonds de fonds, les grandes banques, les banques privées, les family offices et les gestionnaires de fortune. Cette équipe comprend deux autres personnes.Au total, la force de vente de BNPP IP en Allemagne comprend actuellement 12 personnes, dont une moitié pour le retail et l’autre pour l’institutionnel.BNP IP emploie outre-Rhin une trentaine de personnes, anciens de Fortis compris, sous la direction de Martin Theisinger, head of distribution Deutschland, qui a dirigé Schroders Allemagne avant de passer par la case head of client relationship management for Germany chez Fortis Investments. La gestion locale de BNPP IP à Francfort occupe 5 personnes et affiche un encours compris entre 7 milliards et 7,5 milliards d’euros avec 20 milliards d’euros en ligne de mire à l’horizon de trois ans.
Selon la Börsen-Zeitung, Wolfgang Kirsch, président du directoire, a annoncé que la DZ Bank, l’une des deux grandes caisses centrales des banques populaires allemandes, caresse l’espoir d’acheter des portefeuilles de banque privée que les banques luxembourgeoises vont être obligées par la Commission européenne de vendre. D’après les proches du dossier le fonds souverain Government of Singapore Investment Corp (GIC) a l’intention de faire coter le 15 octobre une partie de ses actifs dans le secteur de la logistique, ce qui devrait lui permettre de lever 3 milliards de dollars américains, rapporte The Wall Street Journal. Après l’annonce de l’ouverture de négociations exclusives en mars dernier, UFG-LFP et Siparex ont officialisé jeudi la concrétisation de leur partenariat dans le capital investissement, rapporte L’Agefi. UFG-LFP prend 66 % de la filiale nouvellement créée, nommée UFG-Siparex. Selon Les Echos, une étude de McKinsey indique que l’année 2009 est restée marquée par la crise pour les banques privées en France, avec une rentabilité avant impôt divisée par deux en deux ans. L’an dernier, le marché français de la gestion de fortune a bénéficié d’une collecte nette de capitaux de 3%. Un score légèrement supérieur à la moyenne européenne (+1%). Mais, parallèlement, le revenu sur encours a davantage reculé que dans l’ensemble de l'échantillon (-11points à 84 points de base) tandis que les coûts sur encours ont moins baissé que prévu. La Banque Postale a annoncé, jeudi 9 septembre, ses résultats du premier semestre 2010, avec un produit net bancaire consolidé de 2 640 millions d’euros (+7,6 %, sur base comparable par rapport à la même période en 2009) et un résultat net consolidé part du groupe de 379,5 millions d’euros (+31,7 %). Les encours clientèles épargne et dépôts à vue ont atteint 280 milliards d’euros, (+1,6 %). Au 30 juin 2010, La Banque Postale Asset Management (LBPAM), la société de gestion de l'établissement qui gérait 122,5 milliards d’euros a connu un mouvement de décollecte au cours du premier semestre, en phase avec la tendance du marché des OPCVM. LBPAM a néanmoins enregistré sur les huit premiers mois de l’année une collecte positive de 954,5 millions d’euros, «en grande partie en raison d’un fort rebond de la collecte sur les personnes morales au mois d’août 2010", précise un communiqué.De son côté, la Banque Postale Gestion Privée, la société de gestion sous mandat de portefeuilles de valeurs mobilières, détenue à 51 % par La Banque Postale et à 49 % par Oddo & Cie a, pour sa troisième année complète de distribution, ouvert près de 3 500 nouveaux comptes à fin juin 2010. Eight strategies out of eleven finished the month with positive returns, with the best results for fixed income (+2.24%), credit and multi-strategy (with +1.83% each). The three strategies which showed losses were L/S equity (-0.49%), arbitrage (-0.27%), and convertibles (-0.20%).

The largest gains in August were for the 6 equity short bias funds, with 2.23%, and the 16 convertible arbitrage funds, with 1.43%. However, the 93 equity long bias funds lost an average of 2.52%. In January-August, the 25 FI arbitrage funds finished on top, with performance of 8.35%, followed by the 16 convertibles arbitrage funds, which gained 6.77%. Equity long bias, however, has lost 2.25% in the first eight months of the year.

Long-term UCITS funds, excluding money market funds, finished second quarter with net inflows of EUR23bn, compared with EUR86bn in first quarter. This development is probably related to investor concerns over the Greek crisis. Net outflows from money market funds increased in second quarter to EUR51bn, compared with EUR38bn in first quarter. The total value of assets in UCITS funds was down 0.5% in the quarter under review, to EUR5.606bn as of the end of June. Equities funds saw the largest decline (EUR76bn), followed by money market funds (EUR45bn). Assets in non-UCITS funds, for their part, increased 2.6% to EUR1.888bn as of the end of June.

He will also assist in other regions, including Latin America.

p { margin-bottom: 0.08in; } Due to large-scale demand, the range of European bond ETFs from iShares, the ETF arm of BlackRock, has topped USD25bn in assets under management, a statement says. iShares has seen assets in the range increase 44% per year in the past two years, “demonstrating investors’ interest in the liquidity, diversification and transparency offered by these solutions,” the promoter says. For the bond tracker fund segment, iShares says that for the first half of 2010, inflows represented 23% of total inflows to European ETF markets. Investors have primarily invested in ETFs specialised in government bonds, corporate and emerging market debt. The ETF market is likely to remain dynamic. “At the beginning of the year 2008, iShares predicted that global bond ETF assets would increase by 200%, to over USD200bn by 2011. The industry is on track to meet this prediction, with global assets under management in bond ETFs currently totalling USD189.9bn,” says Alex Claringbull, Senior Portfolio Manager at BlackRock.

According to the Financial Times, Goldman Sachs is facing a fine thought to be near GBP20m from the Financial Services Authority. The UK’s regulator opened its investigation into the bank in April after the SEC charged Goldman with misleading investors in a complex mortgage-backed security known as Abacus.

The fourth recruitment is that of Ewan Cameron, who joins the SWIP Property Trust Team from Stockland, and who will report to Kerri Hunter, deputy fund manager. Kerry Lees has also been transferred to the SWIP Property Trust team as an asset manager; she was previously in the research and strategy team. Farida Manata has accepted a permanent position in the research team. As of 30 June, SWIP managed about GBP5.9bn in real estate, of which GBP2bn were for the SWIP Property Trust, whose size has doubled in 15 months.

It will be a “plain vanilla” equities fund, which will not use short-selling, but which may be permitted to invest in real estate via publicly-traded equities in that sector.

Mark Mobius, chairman of the Templeton Emerging Markets Group, says that the decision opens the way for fund listings in Bucharest. FTIML has recently opened an office in the Romanian capital, with 17 employees. The fund has assets of EUR2.7bn.

The UCITS-compliant product, which has been listed on the Irish stock exchange since 2 July, aims for absolute returns with low correlation to bond markets, investing in a highly diversified long/short portfolio of undervalued credit, most of it investment grade. DCI uses quantitative methods to determine default risks, and to precisely value credit issues. The management firm then constructs risk-adjusted and diversified long/short portfolios to exploit inefficiencies.
