Le groupe minier a cédé sa participation de 50% au capital de la coentreprise Hydrogen Energy International à son partenaire BP, pour un montant resté confidentiel. Rio Tinto a indiqué devoir consacrer l'essentiel de ses investissements à un projet en Californie lié à la technologie de capture du carbone.
